First flight of the Yak 12 finally happened.. out of Bayport airport, NY (23N)
11.5 year restoration.
Has not flown in 35 years since it left Poland.
Is the only flying Yak 12 in the U.S.
Thanks to all the great and dedicated volunteers who made this happen... to many of you to mention here..

First time flying after 35 years and a painstaking 11 year restoration. This Yak-12 departed Bayport Aerodrome for Brookhaven to conduct airworthiness trials.

The YAK is ALIVE !!!!!!! Yak 12 Milestone!
Last Sunday We pullied the Yak 12 out of the hanger for the first time Fully Complete after it's 11 year rebuild/restoration... after engine runs we Taxied her for the first time under its own power since it has been in the U.S. (about 20 years), Including a couple of higher power runs down the runway, got the tail up she was busting to fly!!!

Note the Red Rubber insulation fitted to protect the Avionics Bus Bar.
Also note how the Side door opens and is supported by a door stay, making access behind the panel and foot area super easy.
