POV: You found some lonely butter pats & need to make them feel cozy and at home.

This cubby was original to the Bedford County Courthouse, and was removed in the ‘40s or ‘50s during a renovation. The workers were allowed to take discarded things home with them. The cubby stayed in one worker’s family and was passed down until a few years ago, when his granddaughter was downsizing and reached out to me, knowing if I bought it, I’d keep it, because I love local things and their stories. I’ll always be so grateful she thought of me 🖤

Update: It’s T10 😁

Happy news:
The trees 🎄 in my personal collection are arranged.

Sad news:
I still need to finish putting pegs in, and I have NO lightbulbs for some reason... they’re all lost? I went to the store to find them and didn’t have any luck! Send help! What is the size I search for? 🤣🤣🤣 I think it’s “T” something!!

✨ Update: There is a post up on Instagram showing the pieces for sale! ✨

Starting to take down my ironstone summer hutch to switch my collection out for fall… I made a rule for myself that ten pieces have to go out for sale 🤓

They’re probably all going to be transferware, so don’t get excited about any of my plain whites.

See what I pick to part with in Stories!

There are a couple pieces of ironstone in most of this reel that aren’t for sale—I needed to stage the cubby *fast* and grabbed a few out of my personal collection to do it. In the last clip, where the cubby has moved to the floor, everything’s for sale except the cubby itself and the pumpkins/basket.

People always ask why I don’t sell my seasonal decor. Two reasons: first, we’re an antique/vintage store. Modern home goods aren’t really part of our repertoire, but when I find them secondhand, they make a great complement to what we actually do sell, and help people see how antiques can mix with what they already own. Second, I don’t have the time or desire to go hunting for that kind of thing, so when they fall into my lap, I hang onto them and reuse them over and over.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk about NFS See you all at the shop!

Starting to style my new-to-me hardware cubby at Thirteen Pines Trading Co. today!

Picked this up on Facebook Marketplace last spring with absolute VISIONS for every season, but you all know how life gets in the way. Aiming for neutral, cozy vibes—lots of stoneware, restaurantware and a touch of ironstone—and planning to add some natural accents for fall 🍁

The cubby won’t be for sale, but all the goodies inside are!

I have some big, exciting things upcoming for the Thirteen Pines brand. Some of them are just weeks away. Some are more like months down the road. So grateful for all of you who follow along on our journey!
