**How much room do you actually need for a two-post lift?**

It depends on a lot more than whether the columns fit between the walls.

A typical CL10AV3 should be planned around roughly a 14' × 24' bay. Step up to a 12,000 lb. CL12 and you're looking at **28 feet of bay depth**, with even more working room needed as you move into CL16 and CL20 applications.

Ceiling height, garage doors, concrete, lights and the vehicles you're actually lifting all matter too.

This customer outfitted the shop with matching lifts across all three bays, giving them a clean, consistent setup for day-to-day service work.

27 lifts. Five months. One major service department upgrade.

These photos show just a small snapshot of a much larger project completed by Northcoast Equipment Specialists.

Over a five-month span, our team replaced 27 existing Rotary in-ground lifts with new Challenger Lifts EV1020 in-ground lifts, working bay by bay to complete the upgrade while minimizing disruption to an active dealership service department.

The project involved removal of the existing lifts, demolition and excavation, removal of the old underground assemblies, preparation of the existing pits, setting and installing the new Challenger EV1020 lifts, concrete restoration, and final commissioning.

Projects of this scale require much more than simply supplying equipment. They require careful planning, coordination, experienced installation crews, and the ability to keep a multi-phase project moving from start to finish.

Another unique installation completed by Northcoast Equipment Specialists.

This project involved the installation of a recessed Autel alignment and ADAS lift in an existing service facility. With limited bay space available, the recessed H-shaped pit configuration provides the customer with a highly functional alignment and ADAS calibration bay while making efficient use of the existing footprint.

Our team handled the project from layout through completion, including:

• Existing concrete excavation
• Pit layout and forming
• Underground drainage provisions
• Reinforcement and concrete preparation
• Recessed lift installation and final setup

The finished installation allows the lift platforms to sit flush with the surrounding floor when lowered, maintaining a clean, unobstructed work area while providing the room needed for alignment and ADAS calibration procedures.
