Our storefront is slowly being taken over by scarecrows, and we LOVE IT! From spooky to silly to downright bizarre, the creativity is already on full display. But we’re not done yet!

We want to see this place PACKED with scarecrows! There’s still plenty of room, and you have until October 26th to get yours in!

Scarecrows and pumpkins… oh my! 🎃

Fall is in full swing around here and now we need YOUR scarecrow to join it!

Our Scarecrow Contest has JUST BEGUN and we want to see what you can come up with. Traditional, spooky, silly, beautiful, completely bizarre… anything goes. Kids, adults, families, friends, everyone is invited to enter. We want to see what our town can create!

🎃 BERNARDSVILLE HARDWARE SCARECROW CONTEST! 🎃

Build a scarecrow at home, bring it to Bernardsville Hardware, and we’ll put it on display for the community to enjoy before judging our favorites!

And when we say scarecrow, we’re using that term loosely😉 Make a classic straw and flannel scarecrow, something funny, something spooky, something completely abstract… we want to see what you come up with! Our sample scarecrow is just one example.

This is open to ALL AGES!

🍂 HOW IT WORKS:
• Make your scarecrow at home
• Drop it off at Bernardsville Hardware October 12–26 tagged with your name and phone number
• Scarecrows must no taller than 6 feet and no wider than 4 feet
• It must be constructed so that we can securely display it in a straw bale
• All entries will be displayed together at the store for the community to see
• Judging will take place the week following the October 26 deadline

🏆 PRIZES FOR 1ST, 2ND & 3RD PLACE!

We can’t wait to fill the store with scarecrows made by YOU! Whether yours is traditional, silly, spooky, beautiful, weird, wild or totally unexpected, we want it here.

Full-Time Material Handler

We're looking for someone to join our team! Responsibilities include receiving and stocking merchandise, moving products throughout the store, and helping customers.

Requirements: Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be available to work weekends. Forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Hardware knowledge is not required. We will train the right person.

We offer paid holidays and vacation for full-time employees and a fun, fast-paced work environment.

Ten years ago today, Drew and family walked through the doors of Bernardsville Hardware as its new owners. The store had already been serving this community for decades, and we knew we had been given the opportunity to carry on something much bigger than ourselves.

Over the last 10 years, we’ve had the privilege of helping with everything from first homes to forever homes, weekend projects to emergency fixes, and all the little moments in between. We’ve celebrated milestones together, weathered storms together, and have been lucky enough to get to know so many of you.

This place has never just been about nuts and bolts. It’s about the people who walk through the doors every day, the incredible team that makes this store what it is, and the community that has embraced our family from day one.

To everyone who has chosen to shop local, trusted our advice, recommended us to a friend, or simply stopped by to say hello, THANK YOU.

Here’s to celebrating 10 years of our family’s chapter at Bernardsville Hardware. And to many more years of old school service, neighbors helping neighbors, and being here whenever you need us.

Ever walked into a hardware store looking for a… whatchamacallit? 🤔

That’s okay. Around here, you don’t need to know the name of the part. We will ask the right questions, find the right solution, and make sure you leave with everything you need to get the job done.

This video captures that perfectly.

It also came together in a pretty special way. A few weeks ago, two local teens, Cam and Sean, walked into our store with an idea for a new business they wanted to start- Metric & Muse Media. They offered to create a video for us to show what they were capable of.

They wrote the script, directed the shoot, filmed it, and edited the final product. And we think they did an incredible job 👏

We love supporting young entrepreneurs who are willing to take a chance on themselves. We’re grateful they chose Bernardsville Hardware for one of their first projects! You can find them on Instagram
