Last week was officially 😉one of those that filled our cups! Despite driving 22 hours in 3 days it was worth it for all the conversations and connections that transpired. Thank you to 50 South for kicking off our travels with a beautiful dinner showcasing entrepreneurs in ND Synclaire Events Venue in Fargo! The dinner was divine and the energy is always top notch with individuals from gener8tor and Emerging Prairie . Second thank you to IND H**P for bringing us all together for the The Goodness of H**p . It is always a breath of fresh air talking with architects and individuals in the natural building space that are ACTIVELY looking to expand their knowledge of **p/h**pcrete! (If Matt and I didn’t get a chance to answer your questions please reach out because I definitely kicked myself on the drive home for not giving everyone all the attention they deserved; I am talking to you Alex in Bozeman! And everyone else.) It’s truly how the saying goes “there are never enough hours in a day”and it especially rings true when you are in good company wanting to soak in every last conversation.

So cheers to the movers, the builders, and the dreamers together we can make the world a better place! Now back to the grind of panel production for the next build. Finishing out the year strong 💪🏻

It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. Today I was able to help get the kids to school, sent them with a fresh sourdough cinnamon roll, picked up some wood, called a new material supplier, placed orders for additional material with two other companies before heading to my office job at 9:00. Was able to join Matt for lunch and we spent the time framing for an upcoming build. I then collected the kids from school and was off to volleyball practice, more framing, a quick discovery call with a potential new customer, picking up groceries and shopping for snow gear since winter is right around the corner. Fed the kids dinner and then went to my one night of women’s volleyball. Came home at 9 to cook dinner with Matt and get this grant in.

A look back at one of our most productive months bringing healthy structures to reality.

Last month we did 3 installs! In 3 different states.

1. We started off the month in Oregon with a demo install for a training program at OSU. Matt was there for roughly 48hrs to install 1/4th of the walls for an educational structure that was used to demonstrate 4 h**pcrete application methods. Homeland H**pcrete provided the Structural H**p-Insulated Panels (SHIPs), hand-cast install by Doctor-H**phouse, Spray applied by Americhanvre Cast H**p, and the block system provided by Earth Merchant ️

2. In the middle of the month Sam and Matt drove to Moorhead, MN for a 2.5 day install on a 2-bedroom spec home for EchoHomes.

3. At the end of the month Matt drove to WI for a 1.5 day install of a garage/work space.

Really exciting to see a month like this come together. Now, onto some much need R&R with the fam!

Build complete, and a cool milestone! This was one of the projects we installed last month in Moorhead, MN with Homez. It is a 2-bedroom spec home in a newer development, and the first one with h**pcrete walls! Our SHIP (Structural H**p-Insulated Panel) install took 2.5 days to complete on this one.

Interesting fact about this build… We were able to use industrial h**p grown in both ND (our home state) and MN (where this build took place). Ok, it’s not that interesting, but Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN are considered twin cities, separated only by a river. We thought it was pretty cool that we were able to use natural resources from both sides of the divide to build something impactful and unique to the area.

Big shoutout to Homes, Dusty Hill Design, and Grassroots Development Fargo for taking a shot at this type of construction in our region! If you have followed our company long enough you will see that we travel all over the country for h**pcrete construction. It’s refreshing to see natural building being proven out in our own region!

Coming to life soon! Our goal is to have atleast one of these built before the end of this year.

Loving the concepts that Root Down House Plan Co. has put together. Intentional design is especially important when designing for homes that are built to last, and be in use for generations to come

It’s Take Your Dog To Work Day!

8 years ago Matt’s dream was to one day have a job where he could take his dog to work everyday and hoped it would be a reality in Bruiser’s life time.

Our best employee/shop-dog turned 13 this month and is loving the **plife , BRUISER (middle name FAT COW 🐮) has been with us since going to job sites and hanging in the facility watching the being made.

Let us know if there is an easier way to be able to bring your dog to work (compared to running a h**p business 😆)

Build ‘in-process’

Here is an image of the 9ft tall X 12” thick panels getting installed at the Spec home build in Moorhead earlier this month.

With our northern climate here the 12” thick walls are the ideal size to provide solid performance and a dense, cozy structure when complete.

💚Getting started is the hardest part, but also the most important! 💚

The most stressful part of a build for us, is getting the first panel up! Until then it’s all speculation... is the site ready, are the dimensions correct, is the equipment sufficient, do I have a capable crew? Until that first step, you just don’t know.

While our focus is primarily on prefabricated construction now, we had these same feelings back when doing cast-in-place and other build projects.

💚As with most things in life the can be daunting, but we can’t let that fear stop us from building something great!

This is the start of our most recent build in a new development in Moorhead, MN. We are super excited to be working on this project so close to home!
