Just a reminder that next week we'll be facing a good bit of rain, so don't forget to spray your copper fungicide or any blight prevention treatment you have before that rain comes. Trying to get rid of it after it hits the garden is nearly impossible once the blight gets started. Prevention is the best cure. Trellis & Prune the bottom 6 to 8 inches of leaves off your tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and any other plant that may be prone to blight.. Removing those leaves at the base of the plant helps prevent blight from traveling up the plant caused by the splash up from the soil. Mulch around your plants with pine straw if you can. Pine straw carries a natural antimicrobial compounds. that kills the bacteria that causes blight
