The number of signatures here has more than doubled since I lamented the lack of activity earlier in the week... but it is still a dismal turnout. Why does this matter to people interested in Defensive Fi****ms? Shorter guns are easier to maneuver and use in most home defense scenarios. Suppressed guns also have some advantages in home defense. Oh, and, repealing the NFA (or evolving it) would restore Second Amendment rights that have been significantly infringed for approaching 100 years.
The petition itself may not "do anything"... but showing that the RKBA movement is still alive and not dormant in the aftermath of the elections last year is probably important. The President clearly wants to appeal to his supporters, even at the extremes of public opinion, let him know what you want.
