The end grain of hardwood decking absorbs and releases moisture much faster than the face of the board, making freshly cut ends especially vulnerable to checking, splitting, and cracking.

Ipe Seal® is a wax emulsion sealer designed to protect exposed end grain and help preserve the structural integrity of your decking. Simply apply it to freshly cut board ends to create a protective barrier that helps reduce drying splits and extend the life of each board.
