Pepcon is looking for an experienced freelance AutoCAD drafter to help modernize and standardize our precast concrete drawing library. This is hourly contract work, not a full-time or permanent position, and would be a good fit for an experienced drafter looking for flexible freelance/project work.
The initial project will include:
- Redrawing an existing database of 100+ individual precast parts in AutoCAD. Many existing drawings are unscaled and will need to be recreated accurately to scale.
- Developing a standard AutoCAD drawing/title block template and master document control for future drawings.
- Creating an organized and consistent CAD drawing database/library.
- Reviewing existing drawings and identifying missing or undocumented dimensions.
- Performing occasional onsite field measurements of existing products when dimensions cannot be confirmed from our current documentation.
We are looking for someone with 7+ years of AutoCAD experience who can work independently from existing drawings, sketches, and physical measurements. Experience with precast concrete, manufacturing, fabrication, or similar technical drawings would be a plus. Because some onsite measurement may be required, we prefer someone located in or reasonably close to the Greater Dayton, Ohio area.
This will be structured as freelance, hourly contract work, with flexibility in when much of the drafting is completed. The initial scope is the conversion and organization of our existing drawing library, with the potential for ongoing hourly drafting work as new products and custom projects arise.
