Well we missed him being born with all the projects, and a month late but Blue Maid had a blue roan stud c**t, by Baby Blue Man, both are doing good, just resting in the sun.

Well it’s been a few weeks, and we have got a few things done. But we have a long ways to go. Got some pens rebuilt, and a large part of the shop pulled down and hauled off. Not much in the pastures has changed, in the bottoms can see a little bit of green, but we need some precipitation in a bad way.

Mares are still holding out on us but I’d be shocked if we don’t get a couple of foals this week.

A fellow horseman, Owen Johnson, has suffered a devastating loss from the Nebraska fires. While we are thankful his home and most of his horses were spared, he lost so much that is essential to caring for his livestock. We want to do our part to help him rebuild.

We will be auctioning a yearling c**t, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Owen Johnson.

It’s been an exciting week here at the ranch. But this morning welcomed a beauty blue roan filly, we named her Smokey Hayes. She was up and sucked, her and momma are both doing great!

Hey all a short update on us! We’re getting some great hay in for the horses, and appreciate all of the support. Horses are stressed, but full belly’s help that a lot. Anxiously awaiting our first foal. We are going to post some pictures of the fire.

That being said. I spoke to two of my neighbors who face exactly what we do but they have cattle. They could use any and all hay they can get. We’re more than willing to unload it while they try to clean their places up. So if anyone out there has some cow hay they can spare please reach out to us and we will get unload it and get it to them.

Little update on today. Finally starting to get the hay piles burned down, all the electrical to the ranch burned, but we have generators for water and limited house power. The cold and wind moved in, so it’s pretty brutal working. All the horses left are okay, cobbled together some pens from random panels and gates. Everything around us is black so safe but in the Stone Age, I will update the best I can.

All the summer pasture and fencing burned so working in a plan to get some wire pulled to get the mares and foals out of the yard. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

I know we haven’t been posting much, and we had hoped to have a c**t. But a little update from us. Thursday the cottonwood fire swept across the ranch, we lost the shop, all 100 bales of hay, a few out buildings, all of our corrals and one of our senior stallions. We would like to thank all the firemen who help to save the house and the rest of the horses. We have a few bales to feed the horses and got some temporary panels set up. Here are a few pictures.

Got the last set of c**ts weaned and started on the halter over the weekend and they’re doing great.
