First snow is on the way. ❄️ Here's how to clear it off a PVC deck without damaging the boards.

On an AmeriDex deck, snow melt runs off the sealed surface toward the low edge, so the space below stays dry. Your job is just to keep it usable: a broom for light snow, a plastic shovel for deeper snow, and push it off the low edge, away from the house.

How much slope does a deck need to drain? 🌧️

On an AmeriDex deck, rain stays on top of the boards and runs off the surface, so the pitch does the work. The number is 1/8 inch per foot, away from the house. On a 12 foot deck that's only about 1 1/2 inches of drop, gentle enough that most people never notice it.
