One complaint that some people have with painted deck boards and composite decking (specifically darker boards) is that it can be hot to the touch. Pricing always seems to be a hot topic when l deciding between a pressure treated deck and a composite or PVC deck product. Here’s some food for thought:

A 5/4 pressure treated deck board at 16’ is around $15.00.

A TimberTech Prime deck board at 16’ is around $50.00.

An AZEK PVC board in the Harvest+ collection at 16’ would be around $100.

Can you build a deck on the cheap with pressure treated deck boards? No doubt. Will it stand the test of time? Probably not.
