Begun in 2015, the Honolulu Skyline automated rail transit system project includes 18.9 miles of elevated guideway across 19 stations. The motivation for this monumental project was Honolulu's notoriously bad traffic; the result would be a cleaner, safer, and more efficient way to move around the island from East Kapolei to downtown Honolulu.

Stainless steel metal fabric was specified for the guardrail system because of its low-maintenance, durable qualities, as well as the ability to protect passengers without blocking the views.

Few projects showcase how metal fabric can protect from wind like Holmenkollen.

At this ski jumping facility in Oslo, Sambesi and Sambesi PC metal mesh weaves convert the wind into a laminar airflow to shield jumpers from gusts of fierce wind. More than 7,300 square meters of mesh was fitted to the steel structure, following wind tunnel testing.

Growth and a commitment to excellence define St. Thomas University, a higher education institution based in Miami Gardens, Florida. That's why the university recently built the Rico Family Plaza at the Gus Machado College of Business.

Designed by Bermello Ajamil Partners, the 46,521-sq.-ft. complex features a state-of-the-art classroom building, the Business School Administration Building, and the Center for Career Development. The open architectural style was created by using the Tigris weave metal mesh to both protect and highlight the building.

Since 1973, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center has been known for its extensive medical services, including the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the area. As the community grew, the center brought on Perkins&Will to design a new patient wing and accompanying parking structure.

GKD Omega Divergence was chosen for the parking garage; the metal fabric defines the overall shape of the building while still revealing details.

Designed by HOK, the Hamad International Airport needed a modern upgrade as well as a place to showcase ads and videos on local culture. This was the first transparent media facade made of stainless steel mesh in the Middle East. Located in the duty-free and arrival corridor, these GKD Mediamesh facades allow passengers arriving or departing to experience what's happening outside the airport as they pass by.
