Iron Soup Estates Inc. Preserving an Endangered National Historical Site,
a.k.a "The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes In case you do not know about us already….

We are now Iron Soup Estates Inc. located in Campbell Ohio and are still working to preserve the Endangered National Historical Site called the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes. The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes were built in 1918 to appease the workers after the devastating strike of 1916. They were the world's first fully functioning prefabricated Modern Apartments complete with

indoor plumbing and electricity. The homes were declared a National Historical Site in 1982 for their unique solid concrete construction and later added to the endangered list of Historical Places. Back in 2007, former Campbell native made one of the units his home. Appalled at the condition of the neighborhood, he began a one man cleanup effort that has since escalated into numerous volunteers, robust community involvement and interest. Many years have passed and the site has gone through many changes. A decade of various trials and errors, including the formation and failure of a non profit have brought us to the point of the formation of our final entity Iron Soup Estates. Big media events are offering the potential to possibly at last raise the funding required to save the site. If viable funding is not secured very soon a large part of the complex will be destroyed. City and county officials are no longer in support of renovation as the presence of blight has taken to large a toll on the morale of the community. Accomplishments thus far:

May 2007 – 2011

1. Emergency stabilizing repairs were made
2. Three 20 yard dumpsters of debris removed from insides of 20 units
3. Debris removed from yards of 20 units including areas inside Complex owned by City of Campbell
4. Cleaned out 6 city sewers on Union and Delmar that were contributing to flooding of lower Jackson St.
5. Located 2 dirt and vegetation covered storm drain sewers that were unknown due to incomplete city plan
6. Made passable city sidewalks and curbs, on Delmar, Chambers and Union Sts.
7. Repainted 5 City One Way Signs and the Delmar Street Sign
8. Dump truck loads of unusable building materials, tires, appliances, glass, garbage etc removed from Garages on Delmar (former Company Homes Firehouse) and on Jackson St (former Company Homes Garages)
9. Reclaimed city park areas within the Complex by removing debris, dead trees and litter and mowing
10. Boarded up windows on 15 units
11. Painted outside of 10 units
12. Outside facing repaired on 10 of 20 units
13. Refaced 1 Concrete Pillar and Repaired 5
14. Plumbing installed in 5 units
15. Electric installed in 4 units
16. First stage remodeling of inside Office Complex commenced
17. Complete restoration of one continuous original clay tile roof – 660, 6.5 Lb tiles removed one by one
18. Surveillance system installed, crime watch instituted, six vagrants removed and thwarted new ones coming in
19. Installed 2 ground based Prototype Solar Street Lamps to deter crime, accidents and lower power usage

*all the above funded by ISHPC garage sales, thrift store, car washes, recycling and other various fundraisers

5. ISHPC enrolled in Justgive.org to facilitate and track donations
6. ISHPC forms partnership with Techsoup.org to gain much needed software and technical products
7. Community Homes Owner Coalition (CHOC) formed
8. Received and successfully implemented YNDC Peoples Garden Grant, 2013
9. ISHPC involves Company Homes community’s children in planting 800 morning glories
10. ISHPC President is winner of Hands On Network of the Valleys’ Volunteer of the Year Award, Dec. 2012

19. 3 Historical Units brought out of Blight and into Tenancy, 4th unit to be completed and rented for Jan 2014
20. New roof is currently being installed by local contractor on the Former Company Home Garages on Jackson St.
21. Home Depot Fencing installed in front of Rental Units on Delmar Ave.
22. Home Depot donated doors, windows, flooring, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and lighting installed in units.

Walking tours will be starting again at 9 AM Monday April 8th at the all original unit which will include a detailed narrative of the history of the site will start again on the 8th. You must contact me in advance to book a tour. The cost is $20/person and you have to sign a liability waiver.

We are clearing off our observation deck and fitting it with all necessary add ons to accommodate visitors who would like to see the eclipse from a position above the entire valley. This is a separate event and is not part of the tour visitors can do either or both.

Access to the deck will cost $200 per person. Space will be limited to 30 people max maybe less so it is first come first serve. We are currently taking reservations.

On the deck will be several telescopes, one outfitted with a special camera to capture photos and video of the event. The other telescopes are available for rent @ $200 each. Please know how to use one during an eclipse and everyone will have to sign a liability waiver. We will have no time to assist anyone in how to use the device while the event is going on so please do not request assistance with usage from our staff.

We built a nation based on democracy, freedom from oppression and tyranny. We formed an Army to defend those ideals. Now that Nation is falling apart, the Armed forces who are supposed to be defending democracy come home to find they have nothing coming.

The titles King, Queen, Lord, Lordess, etc., have been replaced by president, senator, congressman. They sold out the common worker long ago to do exactly what England was doing to us in the first place. Allowing the wealthy to profit off the backs of the working class.

While our politicians reep forever benefits for doing nothing but running their mouths while all their underlings do the actual work, our vets suffer, starve, sleep in boxes. LET ME SEE YOU DOG ASS POLITICIANS BE OK WHEN YOU HAVE LIVED THROUGH WHAT THEY DID.

Pigs, dogs and scum, that is who rules us now. And all you fu***ng sheep let it happen. This is why our neighborhoods have decayed, why our history is forgotten, why our strength as a nation has been traded to bow down, comply and conform to the needs of foreigners.

No more is When in America, be an American, now it is Hey America, don't be strong and powerful, shut the f**k up and conform to every other whim of every other person who comes to live here TO BENEFIT FROM OUR WAY OF LIFE, but then are offended by it.

So when you all watch the six a clock news tonight on 27 just keep in mind that I can prove every god damn word I said. This entire adventure has been one big corrupt political bullsiht endeavor. The unbelievable lengths used to stop any funding of this site because no one would profit from it has been mind boggling.

Now watch, watch what happens next. Lets see what they do to me now. I Gurantee they are going to find a way to come after me for telling the truth. In all my years here, I have done nothing wrong, and HOW DARE THAT F**K ASK WHERE THAT LOUSY $1800 of go fund me money went. BET YOUR DUMB STEROIDAL ASS DIDN"T THINK I KEPT EVERY RECEIPT FROM IT.

Did they think that god damn archway restored itself The god damn diamond blade i bought cost over $100. $28 a tube for the special concrete sealer and binder. What the f**k did they think was hoding up the tiles I put back on, AIR. I purchased lumber and built brand new trusses for it. I STILL HAVE THE F**KING PHOTOS AND VIDEO.

Did they think that the materials and equipment to restore the clay tile was free? Fund raisers WHAT F**KING FUND RAISERS.

What they hell did they think we did with $100, or $300 .... They talk like we raised 10 or 20 grand. Nothing we ever did produced any real money and I have a ton of people that were here and worked with me to prove it, and these people are serious, known business professionals. F**K OFF how about that.

The largest revenue producing activity we ever had here were the tours of Angel benefactor produced and I made sure she was informed of what we did with that money every time. I posted photos of equipment we bought, only to have fu***ng sh*theads puposely destroy it so htey didn't have to do any work because it was broken. But they sure were glad to have a place to live they didn't have to pay for.

This is what you get for being a good person, this is the reward for trying to do what s right. Almost every single god damn person I have helped over the years has turned around and bit a finger off my hand. That is what I have got for helping others.

Bottom line is the reason for it, the city will not let anything happen here unless they are behind it. They thrawted me at every turn becaue they would not have been in charge of the project, the people, OR THE MONEY so no politician would be able to profit from it, they were never going to let it happen.

Our great American history destroyed because they couldn't stand to see someone other than themselves get any credit, or make a come up in any way. This is the way of our entire country though. Just look at the perks, the salaries, the benefits congressman, senators and the like enjoy, while the people WHO RISK THEIR ENTIRE LIVES TO PROTECT IT ALL COME HOME AND SLEEP IN THE STREETS.

Tell me again what a great country we live in. F**KING BI***ES.

Soon 330.942.8215 will be a thing of the past. That number is being dropped forever as we begin the process of closing out what has been known as Iron Soup from the first week I arrived here in 2007.
The list of accolades and accomplishments that have stacked up from our endeavors are outstanding. Despite the haters and Nay Sayers we brought tourists, positive attention, pride and even a little prosperity to our city. While many will say I failed, I say show me who was more successful.
The units owned by the company are for sale, some have already been purchased by people who actually have the means and the recourses to do something with them and considering they are NOT ME, maybe the city administration will actually do them a solid cause they sure as f**k were 100% not on my side ever. At least I can say I earned a true beyond college level education in politics.
I will be holding on to a little spot of my own as have no desire to be homeless or broke but I will never endeavor into the landlord business again. I have a solid resume in merchandising and will go back to my focus on sales. As always I have the skills that allow me to make more money by accident than some folks do on purpose. I also have all I need to set up a full blown recording studio and intend to return back to making music and writing, which I excelled at tremendously back in the day.
Lastly from the ashes of Iron Soup, Iron Forge will rise. It is a think tank/ R & D company with what is now 9 incredible inventions that could change the scope of things for the entire planet.
I will say that the main purchaser/investor I am working with is an incredible guy. He is currently serving in our US Armed Forces and has truly taken a serious interest in our City and it history and is dedicated to and has the resources to restore what remains of the site and help create a viable, flourishing historical district that will benefit everyone in our city.
From raised property values to revenue generated from tourism, a viable historic district would be a true game changer.
All I ever wanted was to make our city a better place and whether you agree on my methods or not is really immaterial as it does not change my motives or my heart as I still hold true to that goal. I do know that almost all of the people who have the most negative things to say, are people who have done the absolute LEAST to achieve that goal in any way. Maybe that is why they are so mad at me.
In any event, for me at least it is the end of an era. It will be bittersweet closing out the website and pages that were all part of the company. I am confident and proud that we will not be easily forgotten and until the row the office stands in get repainted our name will still stand proud at 40 Chambers St., also the original rental office for the complex.
Not many people in this world can say they had the guts to leave a comfortable life, job, home and security to go somewhere and flush their toilet with a bucket just to pursue a dream, or as Prince EA would say, let their dream pursue them.
If the end result remains the same it really doesn't matter who makes it happen. In 16 years have a list of people a mile long that have been part of this great journey, each one contributed in their own way.
To our greatest fans, supporters and volunteers there are not enough words in this world to say thank you. You all will live in my heart and mind as the best people ever until I draw my last breath. You inspired, lifted me up, helped move us forward, and occasionally brought me back to reality. If not for all of you, all would have been lost a long time ago.
in September I will have my last hu rah as a historian when the a French Film company arrives to do a world wide documentary on the decline of industrialization in the US featuring our valley from Cleveland to Pittsburgh and focusing on the Mahoning Valley. I am fortunate to have been chosen to play a major role in this event. As always it is an honor to serve my community.

I will be posting a lot of info here, some of it, really will only pertain to the new crew, but I need to get them all on the same page, fakebook page of course, but until then here we are.

Something occurred to derail any effort to tear down company homes, what that is I am not completely sure, but we will take it. A capable crew is now on board, and it is one that is NOT LAZY, and even makes me have to step up my game.

2 regular and one double row are GONE from our site, totaling around about 20+ units that no longer exist. Units that provided many a photo tour, ghost hunts, questions, interest in our history and in our city.

Typically a crew would have been starting this morning without a doubt to take down another full row of 6 units, but that did not happen. This provides hope abound.

Once again, saving the entire site was an incredibly lofty goal.

Here is the thing though, it would have been an incredibly lofty goal for someone that had clout, connections and money.

I had absolutely none of the above when I came here, and pretty much still don't but I absolutely had no problem stepping up to the task because that is how warriors roll. We jump in both hands and both feet and go right to it.

We also go by the creed that if we are still breathing, we are still fighting. We have taken a more realistic stance on the project and centered our sites on a goal that is far more attainable than the original, but any extension of time we can get that allows us to regroup and fortify is a good one.

Just orientating a new crew to here is a job in itself, getting the operation moving in harmony, takes a minute. I do know above and beyond a doubt these are all seasoned souls, they know what the deal is, they understand the challenges and they are truly interested in attaining a common goal and prospering in the creation of our own historic community.

If the small crew that had been here up until the beginning of last year was any where near as much dedicated to achieving something, this place would be done.

Their goal however was to undermine, deter, slow down, and eventually if they would have had the opportunity, rob the company blind. The whole time however making it out that they were absolutely doing their best to help.

If I would have been on top of my game and paying attention, things would have been different, but I was not. Tragedy sometimes does things to you that you do not even realize, and it is often easier to step away from reality as opposed to facing it.

I make no excuses however and take life as it comes. I will say that through it all, I have only grown wiser, stronger and better. Not only is it a new day, a new crew and a new chance, it is a new me.

So here we go again, so to speak. Crew bios and photos coming soon, along with a new agenda and schedule. Welcome one and all to Iron Soup 2.0. Failure was never an option.

Greetings everyone. I just thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know that we are still here and despite a long period of being battered, beaten and confused Proverbially (somewhat) we are still standing strong.

A new crew has come on board and a lot has changed. 2 single rows and one double row have been demolished taking out around 20 + units from the landscape. For the past year there has been no crew at all for the most part, and for the two years before that it was worst in that the small crew we did have were on a mission to ensure our failure not our success.

I was present but not due to personal issues most of which I wasn't even aware were happening. But life has its ups and downs, it sometimes has brutal storms. The hard part is surviving those storms and still being in one piece not only physically, but mentally as well.

I guess I am extremely blessed to have a superiorly strong constitution within me that has allowed me to remain intact through it all.

So here we are in 2023 when in a couple of short months I will mark my 16th year here at the site. Yea, that is a real number. So much has changed it is way to much to even think of listing even if it would have any purpose.

In moving ahead I feel looking back is far less important than looking ahead. From our new crew, to our new business model and new opportunities that lie ahead it will be almost like starting over again from the beginning but carrying the knowledge and experience gained so that this time there can be far more success and much less setbacks.

There is much to be done, and there are still those willing to do it. One thing is for certain, no goal, regardless of ease or difficulty, has ever been achieved by giving up. At this point there is no longer even a question of failure. Looking back at all the positive press, tourism, news across the globe, TV programs, and interest, we succeeded in helping our city in many ways. Failure is no longer possible, we can only fall short of our anticipated expectations.

I would like to personally thank all of you who are still following us, supporting us, and sticking with us despite the occasional lack of progress, the controversy, my eccentric rants and raves, and all the other stuff that surely has gone along with this project. Looking at it from someone on the outside looking in, I have wondered of late if I would still be on my side. So thanks beyond words for those who still are. I cannot ever express how thankful I am for all of you.

Enjoy the upcoming seasons where warmer winds will blow and hopefully we will have some good and exciting news coming on the horizon.

Hi everyone, hope you all are doing great. About a week ago a short film titled HELP was shot at the Company Homes. It was the short story of a woman who lost her son during a bombing raid.

I am sharing this for two reasons, first off the people who did the movie are some of the coolest, most talented amazing people I have ever met. They ROCKED it.

Secondly and very important for sure, THIS MOVIE IS A REAL THING HAPPENING IN THAT COUNTRY RIGHT NOW AS YOU READ THIS.

SO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AND THANK YOUR ARMED FORCES AND YOUR VETERANS THAT THIS IS NOT GOING ON HERE IN OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY ARE THE REASON WE ARE NOT SUBJECTED TO SUCH THINGS.

Its easy to opt out, to object, to protest, but how fu***ng easy would it be if they were bombing our hospitals, schools and neighborhoods. You fu***ng sheep live in a bubble of cluelessness that would be shattered to bits if we did not have incredibly brave and capable people that are, and have served to protect your sorry fu***ng asses AND FOR WHAT ??? So they can come home and sleep in a box, fight for decent health care, worry about taking care of their families.

So thank you Johnny Consigliere for making this film to not only bring awareness to the terrible plight of those people in the Ukraine, but for giving America a taste of what their lives could be like if there were no guards at our gates. With no further delay we give you ... HELP

Greetings everyone. We have some new people coming on board, and we will resume posting of our efforts to save what we can of the site. I am sure many of you do not know that one of the rows here was demolished by a building killer about a week ago.

We have mapped out the core section of the site which is also where most of the occupied units are located, and we are working diligently to insure those units not only remain, but are restored on the outside to their original look, and renovated on the inside in line with the original idea of the homes in mind.

The building killer still remains on site and there are more homes on the list for demo. Fortunately at this time there are no occupied units on that list and we plan on keeping that way.

There is so much going it is beyond description. I can say this page is going to become a lot more active very soon with news, photos and updates on what is going on.

Stay tuned cause a whole new Era of Iron Soup has begun.

Sighhhh landscaping season has arrived. Had to drop a wad of cash at the gas station this morning, also had to inventory check and prep our lawn equipment. Tomorrow it will be a long day of fun in the sun cutting grass, most of which we have no responsibility for, but if we do not cut it .. no one will and .. its bad enough we can't get the traction to do the facelift our site so desperately deserves, but at least we can cut the grass and clean up so it doesn't look like no one lives here.

So .. my references to looking up property on the county website ... specifically 6 .. 10 ... and 12 Andrews which is the only eyesore that is not only abandoned and horrible but is the only units on this side of the complex where the grass is not cut. Why .. because we were told by local law enforcement that it was criminal trespassing charges would be pressed if we cut the grass.

This is without a doubt our last shot at getting some national attention and hopefully getting some big money people to kick in some real cash so we can hit a home run so it is vital that we look good and that the site is informative and easy. Looking forward to hearing the reviews.
