January 23, 2026 – The National Weather Service is still forecasting the possibility of freezing rain for our area. As a reminder no county issues watches or warnings, only the National Weather Service. Impacts of the weather should start by late afternoon to evening Saturday. So please plan to be somewhere safe by later in the day Saturday. We urge everyone in Polk County Georgia to prepare for the possibility of freezing rain. Freezing rain can cause power outages and restoration times will be delayed should we be impacted. Depending on your weather source several different opinions are posted on social media. Polk County will only provide information that comes directly from the National Weather Service. So please take this seriously and prepare for this possibility.
