Tree service was cutting down a Deodar Cedar around the corner.

Always a fun experience trying to ask for a piece, mostly because English is a second language in the tree services around here. But they're always happy to share and don't mind dumping wood into the trunk of my car instead of the chipper!

Bigger piece is 24" at it's widest and ~150lbs. Hoping to get two 8" bowls out of it after cutting away the pith and dividing it. Smaller piece is ~95lbs and hoping to get a 12" bowl out of that one.

Someday Project 0002 - as in "I'm gonna do something with this someday" - I’m gonna glue this up to make spoons, etc… yeah, right! Donating it to the local HS wood shop! My studio is 75lbs lighter.

Someday Projects - So like just about every other woodworker I have entirely too many materials, from scraps of wood to magnolia seed pods and pinecones to logs, that "I'm gonna do something with someday". But I really just trip over them, move them from spot to spot, pick them up after they've fallen on the floor for the nth time, or let them sit forgotten in a bags and totes.

No more!

I've decided to select one of these items per month and use it to complete or make significant progress on a project. I'm calling them my "Someday Projects" to mark the accomplishment of conquering the disposophobia!
