Ranchlands Mercantile

Ranchlands Mercantile Ranch. Conserve. Live. Quality goods & wares brought to you from our ranches. Ranchlands Mercantile is an extension of our mission at Ranchlands.

First started by Duke Phillips III, whose fascination with leather dates back to his childhood on a remote ranch in norther Mexico, our own leather shop has been a part of Ranchlands operation since we first began ranching on the Chico Basin in 1999. Since then, we’ve brought premium, handmade leather bags that epitomize the timeless style and durable quality that inspire us as we work on our land

. Our shop has been featured by Vogue, Conde Nast, and more. Beyond leather bags, belts, and jewelry, we also carry an assortment of accessories, apparel, home good, knives, and more. We have been able to collaborate with Western-inspired artists and craftspeople across the USA over the years and are proud to use our platform to connect stories of the American West and ranching to people across the world. Visit our website to see our full collection of handmade goods and thoughtfully curated wares.

Meet Claudia — she’s a part of the management team on the Frying Pan Ranch in Texas. Most days, you’ll find her outside under the wide Texas sky, moving cattle across the land on horseback.

Her work requires gear that is comfortable, durable, and that allows her to do her job with ease, regardless of what comes her way out in the field.

Some of her favorites are the RB Sellars Work Shirt, the Palm Leaf Hat, the Original Belt in Natural Rough Out, and the Leatherman Wave with a Leather Sheath.

Dive into Claudia’s picks from the Ranchlands Mercantile collection in our stories.

“It was July 2015. In the stillness of the warm sun, a small clique of horses, once at ease, came alive—stirred by the wrangler’s gentle command. It was time to saddle up and gather them in. Their calm grazing gave way to spirited play—hooves skipping, tails flicking—an embodiment of the vibrant, social dynamics among the horses of Zapata.”

Shaped by a lifelong devotion to horses, ’s work honors both place and practice, capturing fleeting, honest, and beautiful moments.

Jill is a long time friend of Ranchlands, and will be leading a painting workshop at the Paintrock this upcoming summer, May 31st to June 5th, exploring technique, and the development of a more confident, personal creative practice.

Her limited edition print, “Horses of Zapata,” is available at the link in our bio.
