A little story about us.
In 2002, we started as S&H Equipment Service, servicing six forklifts for one of my fatherโs best customers. What started as a small service operation slowly evolved into something much bigger. Over the years, we added rental equipment to the mix, became a Genie and JLG dealer, and later added Gehl to the family of brands we represented โ selling track loaders, excavators, and skid steers along the way.
We worked on just about every type of equipment imaginable, sold a lot of iron, and continued building a rental fleet focused on supporting our customers the right way.
In 2019, we had the opportunity to open a Kubota dealership, Schaffer Kubota. At that point, we transitioned the company branding to Schaffer Equipment and separated the dirt and aerial sides of the business between stores.
Then in December 2024, we sold the Schaffer Kubota store to Kubota of Dallas. As part of that agreement, we entered into a two-year non-compete on dirt equipment.
At the time, I donโt think I fully understood how important dirt equipment is to a rental fleet. Dirt equipment starts almost every project. Without it, we were stepping in after the concrete was already poured โ missing a huge opportunity in the DFW market.
Thankfully, the guys at springdale tractor and Kubota of Dallas gave us the opportunity to get out of our non-compete early and helped us begin rebuilding that side of the fleet.
Today, we received the first of many Kubotas from Kubota of Dallas, and I couldnโt be more excited about the future.
Onward and upward.
