Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit (ASW Detroit) is the premier provider of deconstruction services and salvaged building materials in SE Michigan, and a national building materials reuse resource. Founded in 2003 with a primary goal of conserving and preserving historic and irreplaceable historical architectural artifacts by salvaging and reusing building materials through deconstruction,

our mission and vision has since expanded to include a triple bottom line approach with a three pronged focus:

• Transform waste from environmental liability to economic asset through deconstruction and building materials reuse.

• Improve neighborhoods and communities through blight elimination and improved housing stock by providing low cost building materials to Detroit residents while empowering customers through training and partnership.

• Develop the workforce and economic infrastructure needed for a thriving deconstruction and building materials reuse industry through career training, contractor training, local employment, and support of local entrepreneurs and business in the deconstruction and building materials reuse market. Every home deserves to be safe, functional, and filled with the things we often take for granted. 💚

Through our Community Uplift Program, Architectural Salvage Warehouse of Detroit provides no-cost reclaimed building materials, appliances, and home goods to low-income households and community organizations.

This year, our Community Uplift Program has supported 24 households and 76 individuals, awarding nearly $28,000 worth of goods to help people repair, restore, and create stronger homes.
From refrigerators and ranges to doors, windows, cabinets, lumber, flooring, and more—these materials are given a second life while making a real difference in our community.

♻️ And we’re always looking for donations—especially appliances!

We consistently have a need for working:
• Refrigerators
• Washers & dryers
• Stoves & ranges
• Water heaters
• And other functional household appliances

When you donate to ASWD, you’re helping keep valuable materials out of the landfill while making them accessible to neighbors and community groups who can truly use them.
Every donation has the potential to become part of someone’s home. 🏠💚

Come party with off-grid DJs powered by second-life solar panels! 🔋✨

D2 Solar, Michigan Energy Options, and NextCycle Michigan have been working over the past few months to redeploy used solar panels and keep them out of the landfill. Together, they’ve piloted several off-grid solar systems that can power DJs, refrigerators, microphones, and more!

Come see these systems in action while enjoying music, refreshments, and good vibes. 🎧🌱
