🚨 NEW GOODIES AT THE WAREHOUSE 🚨

We’ve got a fresh batch of goodies in, and there’s some FUN stuff this time 👀

🪵 Cabinet-making materials: We received a bunch of sheet goods from GLW Custom Craftsmanship, a local Detroit cabinet company. If you’ve got a project in mind, come take a look!

🌈 Science cabinets with SO much character: Tons of lower cabinets, one upper, and two sink basins salvaged from a Corktown lab undergoing renovations. These came from the former DIFT Co. lab, now Thermo Fisher, and the COLORS?! We’re obsessed. Such a fun opportunity to give some seriously cool cabinets a second life.

✨ Plus, lots of other fun goodies have made their way onto the warehouse floor! (It’s bread szn, amirite?)

You never know what you’ll find here, so come dig around and see what speaks to you. 😉

Old oak, new life. 👏🌳

This custom entertainment system proves that reclaimed materials can make a pretty great comeback. What was once old oak is now a one-of-a-kind piece built to fit the space, the style, and the people who use it.

Hey! Look at this! 👀

Got a working appliance, an old door, or some windows you no longer need? Welp, we know a few Detroiters who might!

Through our Community Uplift Program, we help get salvaged materials and home essentials into the hands of Detroit residents who need them most. And right now, large working appliances, doors, and windows are some of our most requested items.

Your donations do more than clear out your garage or make room for your next project. They help our neighbors make their houses feel like home, support our local community, and keep perfectly useful materials in circulation instead of sending them to a landfill. ♻️🫶

So before you toss it, remember: what you no longer need could be exactly what another Detroiter is looking for.

💚 UPLIFT — YOUR DONATIONS ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Our Uplift program helps get donated building materials and household goods into the hands of Detroit residents and community organizations who need them.

During the third quarter, we helped 13 Detroit households and 55 individuals, providing more than $4,500 worth of goods — including refrigerators, ranges, windows, and doors.

We also continued our partnership with After the Storm, donating 40 12-foot 4x4s to support their work in the community.

Right now, large appliances, windows, and exterior/security doors are some of our most requested items — and they’re also some of the hardest things for us to keep in stock, especially when customers need specific sizes.

If you have materials sitting around that you no longer need, consider donating them to ASWD. What’s taking up space in your garage, basement, or job site could be exactly what someone in Detroit needs.

👀 A little piece of Hazel Park history is sitting at ASWD.

We got a load of boards salvaged from the Hazel Park Race Track — including resawn 2x6s that are now 1x6s and would be perfect for shiplap, wall treatments, ceilings, furniture projects, and whatever else your DIY brain comes up with.

And if you need the full 2x6 situation… we’ve still got loads of those, too.

Come dig through the lumber and see what you can find. ♻️🪵

Albert Kahn was a legendary American architect known as the “architect of Detroit” who designed nearly 900 buildings in the city, pioneering modern industrial architecture and iconic city landmarks — and we got some materials from one of his masterpieces on 2nd Ave.

Come check out these grates? fences? window covers? Do whatever you want with them! But heads up, although melissa makes them look light… they weigh a ton. 💪🏽

And some gorgeous wood and glass doors (don’t worry, they’re just a tad dusty) 😮‍💨🚪
