Hi everyone! Thought I would give you an update. We are now in the process of building the PHANTOM II AB kits. Soon we will be filling our back orders for this particular boat.

UPDATE: Due to a lot of inquiries about hardware for the kits, I am going to recant my latest post and go ahead and supply the kits with hardware. The hardware kits (included with the boat kits) will consist of all necessary fasteners, stuffing tube (bent to shape), motor mounts, sponson booms and turn fin. The prices for the complete kits will be $159.95 for the Ultra kit and $149.95 for the Elite.

Hi Guys

Well, I have fought the battle of my life and from what the doctors say, I have won. It has left me somewhat impaired as to my sight and health but I think I will be OK. The financial strain has been dramatic and has left my wife and I basically broke but as always we will fight our way back.

As for the boat kits, I have thought long and hard on that subject and here is what I have come up with. I will build boat kits on an order basic only. In other words, when you order a boat, I will custom build the kit and send it to you. We will not be stocking any kits at this time. The only kits that are available, right now, is the PHANTOM II AB Ultra & Elite. You will need to expect a 2 week delay from your order date until your kit ships.

The kits will consist of all the wood parts, the foam parts and a construction manual. The kits "WILL NOT INCLUDE ANY HARDWARE" such as fasteners, sponson booms, motor mount, turn fin, stuffing tube, strut, rudder, drive shaft, etc. The "QUICK ADJUST" sponson boom adjusters can be bought as a separate kit. The boats run very well without any extra adjustments but if experimenting with trim and ride attitude is your thing than the adjuster kits will be available.

As I have said before, I have thought long and hard on this subject and due to my health and financial situation, this is the best I can do. I will continue to develop new boats and will introduce the kits as they come available. The main reason I have decided to go on with the development and production of my boats is the continued interest by boat racers from all over the world.

The price of the PHANTOM II AB Ultra is $149.95 and the Elite is $139.95. This includes the rear exhaust cowl but the side exhaust cowl can be substituted or purchased separately. The side exhaust cowl kit is $39.95 if bought separately. The QUICK ADJUST kits are $39.95 for the Ultra and $29.95 for the Elite. These kits do not include sponson booms.

Hi everyone! Well my health continues to improve and I am looking forward to continuing with Bishop Aeromarine. My eye sight has not improved but I still have doctors to see and lens changes to be made. I have did several tests to see if I can still draw, cut with saws, build structures, etc and so far (although not as easy as before) I can still do it. As soon as I am given a clean bill of health, I look forward to going back to work. I will keep you informed. Joe

Hi Everybody, well I thought I would write and share some bad news with you. I arrived home yesterday from the Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City. It is one of the best Hospitals on the planet.

Saturday at about 9:30 AM, I was helping my neighbor lady, who had just lost her husband to cancer. I was removing, cleaning and servicing her air conditioner (window unit) so she could stay cool in this 100+ degree weather.

I brought the air conditioner into my shop on a 2 wheeler, reached down picked it up and set it on my work bench. For some reason I felt tired and a little out of breath so I sat down in my chair. After setting there for a few minutes, I noticed I could not focus my eyes. My wife said why don't you go in and set in your recliner and cool off, so I did. After setting there for a few minutes, I closed my right eye which has never been very good and tried to look through my left eye, the only good eye I have. I was in disbelief, I could only see black with purple flashes.

I yelled at my wife to get me to the emergency room at our local hospital. Well, after 6 hours they really didn't know what had happened to me so they sent me immediately to the O U Medical Center.

I arrived at the center to be confronted by 4 optomoligists. After an hour of examination and test, they called a neurologist and he ordered that I be hospitalized. After all the bright lights used in the exam, I was completely blind in my only good eye.

Well, to make a long story short, after 3 days of test that exceeded $100,000.00 and 18 doctors, I was informed that I had a stroke in my left eye. I was also informed that 90 minutes after having a stroke to the eye, the damage could not be reversed. By the time I was told this, it had been 3 days. My wife and I live on a very fixed income and I have no idea of how I will pay even the deductible on all of this. I started Bishop Aeromarine, in part, to improve our quality of life.

After doing an MRI on my head and neck, I was informed that I have had over a dozen small strokes to my brain. After doing an ultrasound on my heart and running an ultrasound devise down my throat and looking at the back side of my heart, they finally found the culprit, a large blood clot in one of the arteries running from my heart.

Well guys, I am sorry but I am now in a fight to save my life. If they can get rid of the clot and prevent any more from forming, I will be OK. The only thing is I will have lost a large portion of my eye sight. My ability to design, build models and build kits may be in jeopardy.

I will not give up the fight to regain my sight. I will be going back to O U Medical Center in a few days and the doctors are going to do what they can but the prognoses does not look good for my sight. As they say and I believe, miracles do happen! I was born an artist and have made a living all my life using my artistic skills as well as perusing the fine arts in my spare time. I have never suffered such a devastating loss.

For those of you that have ordered kits, I will get you refunds just as quick as I can. For those of you that wanted to order kits, I will just say that the fight is not over yet and I still have hopes of going on with Bishop Aeromarine!

NEW PHANTOM II AB (.21 SIZE) R/C OUTRIGGER HYDRO BOTH ULTRA AND ELITE NOW IN KITS

Bishop Aeromarine is releasing its first kits in the PHANTOM II line of outrigger hydros. These kits will be the ULTRA and ELITE versions of the PHANTOM II AB. There are a total of 11 different PHANTOM II outrigger hydros ranging from .12 size to GASSER. Included will be two twin engine boats. We will be releasing all the kits as soon as possible.

The PHANTOM II AB is designed to use a .21 high performance nitro engine. It is constructed of aircraft grade plywood, LITEPLY, balsa and spruce. The boats are extremely stable down the straight-a-way and in the turns. Only minimum rudder input is necessary to create a very tight turn. Speed is only dictated by the engine and prop you choose to use.

At this time, we are producing kits on a sold only basis. In other words, when we receive your paid order we will build your kit. In time, I am sure we will be able to have kits in stock. The kits are custom cut on precision machines so there is none of the burn caused by laser cutting.

We are also offering two additional accessory kits. The first kit is a Rare Earth Magnet engine cowl hold-down kit. It consists of the magnet mounts and 8 magnets. Also we are offering a custom CAT’S EYE engine cowl for use with front exhaust engines and side exhaust engines. The CAT’S EYE cowl is an accessory item and can not be exchanged for the stock rear exhaust cowl.

OK, here is Marty Fields PHANTOM II AB ELITE .21 size outrigger hydro. This boat is being boxed up to go to Marty in the United Kingdom. Marty will be racing it in the UK and also in Western Europe. The boat is powered by a Novarossi front exhaust engine so I have equipped it with the optional CAT'S EYE engine cowling which is especially made for front exhaust engines. The paint scheme was designed to match Marty's race team colors.

The ELITE boat differs from the ULTRA boat in that it is a more minimalist design. It uses a ski instead of rear sponsons and has no chines on the front sponsons. It incorporates our KWIK ADJUST front sponsons adjuster. The hull is virtually the same as the ULTRA hull. Thought you guys would enjoy seeing it. I will be posting pictures of Marty's ULTRA boat in the next couple of days.
