What a way to kick off the new year!

Last week I had the honor of presenting on the main stage at the National No-Tillage Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. With more than 800 attendees, their inaugural “Shark Tank” pitch competition gave a young guy like me the chance to share what we’re building on a stage like none I’ve been on before.

I showcased our SmartProbe system and cover crops as a compaction management alternative, along with our soil compaction sensors for tillage implements. I even teased a new product we’ll be testing soon. This next-generation compaction monitoring system will mount to far more than just tillage equipment and collect readings at multiple depths throughout the soil profile, unlocking insights we’ve never been able to see at this scale.

🏆 We took 1st place at the Amazon Web Services AI Pitch Competition!

Huge thanks to Iowa JPEC, AWS, America's SBDC and PREDICTif Solutions.

The prize? $50,000 of PREDICTif and AWS partner services that will help us harden data flows, train soil moisture and soil texture aware models, and deliver clear variable rate tillage recommendations.

Onward to helping farmers till only where it pays. 🙌🌱

I had the honor of visiting D.C. with a group of Ag Leaders to speak for farmers at a time when margins are razor thin, with poor crop markets going into harvest and rising costs for interest, inputs, parts, and iron.

I met with the Trump Administration’s ag policy team, Senators Grassley & Ernst, and Rep. Ashley Hinson’s office to push practical solutions: reward efficiency, incentivize sustainable management, and keep family farms profitable for generations.

My specific ask: if companies are monetizing carbon credits from farmers’ practice changes, farmers must be paid what they were promised—on time and in full. This industry needs accountability. Farmer investments in conservation have been growing, but weak oversight has hurt the economics.

The good news: tools exist. At Terraform Tillage we’re building solutions that pay! The SmartProbe and Tillage Tuner help farmers map compaction, cut unnecessary passes and fuel, and verify outcomes so efficiency and stewardship translate into real dollars on the farm. 🌾🇺🇸

Exhibiting at the Farm Progress Show has been a dream of mine since the very beginning of this company. This week, I finally got to live it in Decatur, Illinois.

We showcased the SmartProbe to farmers from across the globe, caught up with old friends, and met plenty of new ones. The highlight? Putting leading tillage implements to the test during the tillage demo!

A huge thank you to Green Cover Seed for partnering with us these past few months to map soil compaction across their diverse plots, and for helping share our findings at the nation’s largest outdoor farm show.

Honored to host Congresswoman Ashley Hinson at Terraform Tillage today!

We showcased how our SmartProbe system and Tillage Tuner technology are helping farmers take control of soil compaction — saving inputs, increasing yields, and supporting conservation goals.

It was a great conversation about the bigger picture too: how small business innovation in rural Iowa connects directly to policy, soil health, and the future of low-carbon agriculture.

A big thanks to Congresswoman Hinson for taking the time to see firsthand the work we’re doing to keep farmers profitable while building healthier soils for the next generation. 🌱🚜

I had a fantastic time visiting Marion, IA, yesterday for the Rodale Midwest Organic Center's Field Day! Coming from a conventional corn and soy background, it was incredibly insightful to explore the opportunities and challenges of a more diverse approach to cropping systems.

Rodale always delivers fascinating insights from their trial plots, and I was particularly interested to learn about their long-term soil compaction studies. They've been meticulously collecting monthly compaction readings throughout the growing seasons for several years—doing it "the old-fashioned way" with one person on the penetrometer and another jotting notes on a clipboard.

After the field day, I was honored to leave them with my SmartProbe mounting kit straight from my own penetrometer. I can't wait to see the data and efficiencies they uncover using our tool!

The icing on the cake was seeing field demos from my longtime friends at ReEnvision Ag and Salin 247, along with an impressive presentation and demonstration from Greenfield Robotics. Thanks to Rodale for hosting such an inspiring event!

On a side note, I was also thrilled to see our research on cover crops' effects on soil compaction was recently published and distributed to all Iowa Corn and Iowa Soybean Association members!

🌱 Another incredible week in the books! 🌽

Last week kicked off with the Continuum Ag Top Soil Summit, marking my 4th year in a row attending. Each time, I come away energized, inspired, and ready to push Terraform Tillage even further. This year, the hot topic was carbon markets—where I gained deeper insights into how our technology can empower farmers to adopt practices that aren't just sustainable, but actively carbon-negative.

Admittedly, there’s still plenty of uncertainty around the future of carbon insets and offset credits in agriculture. But, as always, I’m optimistic about the opportunities ahead, especially with tools that can accurately measure and verify sustainable farming practices.

To top it off, I met Zach Johnson—the Millennial Farmer and someone I’ve admired for years. Thanks, Zach, for your inspiring advocacy and conversations about the future of farming!

🥃 Then, it was time to celebrate a historic milestone: the 125th anniversary of Jeske Farms. 125 years ago, my great-great-grandparents Emil and Marie planted roots in Pleasant Township, and today I’m honored to call that very same plot of land home. We marked this extraordinary occasion by cracking open a special barrel of Jeske Farms bourbon—distilled and aged from corn we harvested back in 2021.

Oh, and I also turned 26—sharing the day with amazing friends, family, and a toast to both heritage and innovation!

Here’s to the next chapter in agriculture—building healthier soils, communities, and futures. 🌾🚜

I’m proud to share that Terraform Tillage has been awarded the Proof of Commercial Relevance (POCR) funding by the State of Iowa! This funding will support our work to bring practical, affordable soil compaction solutions to more farmers and researchers across the country.

From an idea forged on the farm to a tool now used in over 30 countries, this milestone is a huge validation of the impact SmartProbe and Tillage Tuner can have on agriculture and soil health.

Big News from Terraform Tillage! 🌱

Yesterday, Terraform Tillage placed 2nd in the University of Iowa's Innovation Challenge for Program and Academic Alumni — bringing home a $10,000 prize to help us keep building the future of effeicent tillage!

Since the very beginning of Terraform Tillage, I’ve been incredibly grateful for the support of the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Centers. After graduating from Iowa State, I joined the Venture School program in 2022 to take these ideas further — and thanks to the guidance of so many mentors, I’ve been able to turn lessons into action and ideas into impact.

I’m proud of how far Terraform Tillage has come over the past few years and excited for what’s next. With so many amazing applicants this year, it’s an honor to be recognized among them. The funding will go toward some exciting developments we’ll be sharing soon — so stay tuned!

And as a lifelong, diehard Cyclone, I’m happy to say...
