Yesterday marked the final day of operation for Emmett Hardware at its longtime home.

This one is a little bittersweet.

For decades before us, Helen Wendling kept this hardware store going and made it a fixture in our small town. When we had the opportunity to take over in 2018, we really had one mission in mind: keep that legacy alive and keep a hardware store in Emmett for as long as we possibly could.

We’re proud that today isn’t the end of Emmett Hardware, but we have officially sold the business and inventory to Done Right Concrete Supplies and Rentals who will be moving the existing inventory and hardware operation just down the road to their location. When we knew it was time for us to step away, it was important that we didn't simply close the doors, liquidate everything, and let another piece of a small town disappear. We wanted to give someone else the opportunity to bring new energy to it and carry it forward.

Thank you to this community for supporting a small-town hardware store. Thank you to everyone who chose to shop local when it would have been easier to drive somewhere else or order something online. Thank you to the customers who became familiar faces, the people who stopped just to talk, and everyone who supported us through the good days and the challenging ones.

And a very special thank you to the employees who truly became the backbone of Emmett Hardware. Some of the people behind that counter dedicated 18, 20, 30+ years of their lives to this store — long before we came along. They knew the customers, knew the community, knew where just about everything was on those shelves, and helped make Emmett Hardware what it was. We were simply fortunate enough to have them continue that legacy alongside us during our time here.

Thank you, Emmett, for eight great years — and thank you to everyone who helped keep this small piece of our town alive for so many years before that.

What an incredible night!

On behalf of the Village of Emmett and the Emmett Field Days Committee, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and helped bring Emmett Field Days back for the first time in decades.

Seeing our community come together to enjoy the band, great food, cold drinks, and community while supporting a meaningful cause was truly special. Events like this simply aren't possible without the generosity of our sponsors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the overwhelming support of our community.
While Saturday marked the successful return of Emmett Field Days, the Pavilion Project is just getting started.

Our goal remains the same: to restore the Emmett Park Pavilion by replacing the deteriorating support poles, repairing or replacing the roof, and preserving this important gathering place for future generations.

If you weren't able to attend—or if you'd still like to support the project—our Zeffy donation page will remain open as we continue fundraising over the coming months. Donations, Pavilion Pole Sponsorships, and general contributions (any amount can be added in the section labeled "Add a donation for 38-2050695") will continue until the project is fully funded.

Every dollar raised stays right here in Emmett and moves us one step closer to restoring a place that has meant so much to so many.
