rty years of experience, Eric has become a master communicator in the delicate language of wood and he shares his skills at our living history park. Take one of our tours and watch our craftsmen use antique machinery of the 1800's and early 1900's to do custom woodworking, restoration, print and bind books, or mix stains and varnishes. Schedule a fully guided group tour or to take one of our hands-on workshops where you can make your own pen on a lathe or create your own stained glass ornament.

Come out this weekend to support Blue Ox Mill hosting the California Preservation Foundation Doors Open Event!

Blue Ox Millworks — Doors Open CA, Weekend 2 — Eureka

Step inside Blue Ox Millworks, one of the country's last working Victorian job shops, where historic craft is still practiced with antique machinery, traditional tools, and hands-on skill.

Visitors will see how custom millwork, blacksmithing, ceramics, plasterwork, and other trades help preserve and recreate California's historic buildings.

Registration is a flat fee of $20 per person to access all sites (children and students are free). Once you submit your registration, be sure to select the sites you’d like to visit in order to secure your spots.

Dressed in Eric’s Vietnam uniform- complete with medals- Truman Lorick approaches the filming location for the special we did for Magnolia Network about the WWII Higgins Boat we preserved - 15 minutes later we got caught in a torrential downpour!
