The "Edisonian approach" is a method of invention relying on massive-scale, systematic trial-and-error rather than pure theoretical deduction.

You can theory your way into a successful product line - sure, all ideas, good and bad, should start at the theory level - but when it comes time to put rubber to the road you better start "making and breaking" your way to the final product.

Here's another installment of my Emcat+ System R&D Series, taken in the TargetCoatings EmtechLab in New Jersey.

Just wait for the next round when I push the topcoat to its vertical/inverted limits!..

TaegetCoatings: Waterborne in the USA since 1988

TargetCoatings is recognized for its expertise in waterborne product development and engineering, having pioneered the early stages of waterborne wood coatings research and development in the late 1980s—well before major wood coatings producers entered the waterborne market.

Since 1988, we have been committed to strictly waterborne solutions.

Our key attributes include:
- Strictly in the Waterborne Format
- User-Safety
- Maximum Performance Values
- Low Environmental Impact
- Low Toxic Exposures (Short and Long term)

We are excited to introduce our new Emcat+ Waterborne Wood Finish Series, which delivers the traditional 2K solvent performance to wood finishing professionals without the risks associated with highly toxic isocyanate or aziridine catalysts.

While competitors claim that isocyanate waterborne catalysts (pure or blocked) are the only means to achieve true solvent 2K durability in a waterborne format, we stand by our belief that they are incorrect.
