Flag Friday! He's some specs from some of the many questions we have been asked about the flag 🇺🇸
• The 140’ flagpole and 40’ x 80’ flag create the largest combination of height and size in the state of South Dakota.
• The hand-sewn nylon flag and pole were both manufactured in Dallas, TX.
• The flag is large enough to cover an entire high school basketball court.
• Each stripe on the flag is 37” tall, and each star is 32” tall.
• The pole’s ground sleeve is encased in concrete in a 4-foot-diameter, 13-foot-deep hole.
• The 18” diameter 3/8” thick steel pole is secured using only dry sand within this sleeve.
• Stainless aircraft cable and an internal halyard electric winch are used to raise the 80 lb flag.
• The pole is rated for 115 mph wind speed without the flag and 90 mph while flying the flag.
• The flag will be lit by three enormous LED panels with a total output of 209,022 lumens.
• When hanging with no wind, the drape length of the flag alone is as tall as a 10-story building.
• It takes 8 minutes to raise the flag to full staff.
Hope to see everyone May 22nd ! Flag goes up at 6pm. For the flag raising, customer appreciation event!
