You know we love golden hour in Texas Hill Country! This treehouse stays close to its roots with locally-sourced reclaimed wood, rough-sawn and weathered textures, and a capacious size 🤠
Tucked in the branches of a single live oak tree, this 297-square-foot treehouse boasts ample deck space, a living room, floor window (to spot wildlife below), bathroom, bedroom, daybed nook, and kitchenette. The first platform nests 12 feet off the ground, while the second soars at a lofty 21 feet 🌳🏠

An ode to reclaimed Western Red Cedar🌲

If you know Nelson Treehouse, you know we LOVE our cedar. A staple in our builds for decades, reclaimed Western Red Cedar brings warmth, character, and a whole lot of history to every treehouse.

From siding to interior details, it's a material we keep coming back to. Beautiful, durable, and even better with age.

Another World Treehouse Conference in the books! 🌲🛠️

We spent the weekend surrounded by builders, designers, dreamers, and some of our favorite people in the treehouse world learning, sharing ideas, talking shop, and celebrating this community.

shared a special presentation, building a model treehouse as he talked through the process, the idea of giving yourself “permission to build,” answered questions, and shared stories from his many years in the trees.

Daryl, Scott & Jake also got hands-on with a hardware demo, showing how we install a Treehouse Attachment Bolt and talking all things treehouse hardware.

There’s really nothing like getting this many treehouse people together in the woods. Thanks to everyone who came out and made another World Treehouse Conference one for the books.

Pete’s TEDx Talk is officially LIVE 🌲🎤

For , treehouses have always been about so much more than building something in the branches. They connect us to nature, to each other, and to a little bit of wonder.

His message in this talk is simple: give yourself permission to build the treehouse.

Don’t let not knowing where to start stop you. You don’t have to do it alone. There’s a whole community of builders, dreamers, and treehouse people ready to help you along the way.

We’re incredibly proud to see Pete take the TEDx stage and share the message that’s been at the heart of Nelson Treehouse all along.

Every treehouse is designed with its surroundings in mind🌲

We pay attention to how the light moves through the trees, where the best views are, and how the treehouse can make the most of its setting.

Here, we oriented the deck toward the west so it catches the sunset each evening 🌅 Just one of the many ways the landscape helps shape the design.

A grove of prodigious cypress trees hosts this masterpiece, which contains a master bedroom, bunk bed loft, living space, bathroom, and kitchenette. The many windows and sliding glass wall frame stunning views of the Frio River and surrounding Hill Country ✨️ Outside on the sprawling deck lies a tipi, ample hangout space, and two tiers of ladders that descend to the riverbank.
