Read Lumber & Supply Co Everything to Build Anything
Read Lumber & Supply Read Lumber & Supply was founded in 1934 by Mr. Paul Leslie Read in downtown Farmerville.

Read Lumber moved to the current location at 206 Bernice Hwy in 1952. Read Lumber & Supply, Inc was incorporated in 1979. In 1982 Cecil Stanley Read, current owner Stanley Read's father, decided to retire and the company was purchased by current owners Stanley and Judy Read from his father and three sisters. Stanley's grandfather was Paul Leslie Read original owner of the business. In 1985 Stanley

and Judy added a 10,000 sq. foot addition to the existing building. Read Lumber is now your one stop shop for all hardware, lumber, flooring, plumbing, and building needs. Our family-run business has a long tradition in the industry, and we pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service to guarantee that all of our clients are 100% satisfied. 🚨🚨 GENERATOR SAFETY 🚨🚨

Portable standby generators can come in handy during long-term power outages. However, improper use can be dangerous.

Follow these tips to use portable generators safely:
• Turn your main breaker off before using a portable generator to avoid back-feeding electricity onto electric lines. This keeps linemen safe as they work to restore electricity in the area.
• Use heavy-duty extension cords to connect appliances to the outlets on the generator.
• Operate it outdoors in an area with plenty of ventilation. Never run a generator in a home or garage. Generators give off deadly carbon monoxide.
• Turn the generator on before plugging in appliances. Once the generator is running, turn your appliances and lights on one at a time to avoid overloading the unit.
• Be sure the generator is turned off and cool before fueling it.
• Keep children and pets away from portable generators. Many generator components are hot enough to burn you during operation.
