We are the custodians of an exceptional company and we are entrusted with that to keep it here for the next generation. My name is William Schofield and I am the 4th generation of my family to be in this trade. My goal is to make sure that
this business is here for them as it has been for us. It’s not just our families it’s the community’s families and everyone that benefits from us being here. In the early 1900’s my great-grandfather Robert Schofield Sr. established Schofield Hardware in downtown Florence, SC. In 1960 he passed away and left the business to his two sons Robert and Charles. In 1967 they separated their business relationship ending what could have been today one of the longest running family owned business in Florence County South Carolina. In late 1984 Robert and Charles again came together to recreate what their father had envisioned a family run hardware that would empower the local community and provide quality products for its citizens. opened its doors for business with Charles’ two sons James and Marshall Schofield at the Helm. They began in a 24,000 square foot facility on 3 acres of land. In 1996 they resolved to change the company name to Carolina SupplyHouse Inc. because it had become more than just your local neighborhood hardware. It now occupies 125,000 square feet of facilities on 12 acres of land and carries over 180,000 different items in stock. Carolina SupplyHouse, Inc. has and continues to add to its family of employees men and women who are bound with many years of experience in the construction and contractor industry. This real-world experience has allowed our staff to help our customers find the solutions to their problems. I think the people that work here are deep-rooted, dependable, and very loyal to the family that has been forged here. We’ve got the best people you could ask for here. They are all the kind of people that would roll up their sleeves and get the job done.
