Buffalo Lumber and Tie Co. is one of four sawmills operating under the Sawmill Division of Midwest Hardwood Corporation. Buffalo Lumber specializes in hardwood lumber manufacturing from timber procured throughout the upper Midwest including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois.
Since 2006, Buffalo Lumber & Tie, Fountain City, WI has been harvesting and processing timber from Central and Southern Wisconsin, Southeastern Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Northern Illinois. At Buffalo we purchase large volumes of Black Walnut, Red Oak, White Oak, Black Oak, Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Hickory, Black Cherry,White Ash, and Basswood sawlogs and veneer logs. At our mill state-of-the-art thin kerf sawing equipment is used to recover the maximum amount of lumber from each saw log. We also promote the best use of our timber resources through wide reaching programs that market each log into the market offering us the best return. By doing so this makes us one of the most competitive buyers of standing timber and logs in all the areas where we operate. Midwest Hardwood Sales Division is a fully integrated hardwood lumber and distribution company serving secondary wood products manufacturers and hardwood distributors worldwide. Combined, our eight companies offer forest management services, logs, green and kiln dried domestic and imported hardwood lumber, ripped and sorted-to-width lumber, dimension, mouldings, plywood and panel products, laminates and hardware.
