Galesburg Hardware

Galesburg Hardware Local hardware store that has been family owned and operated since 1987. In July of 1999 the store was rebuilt and re branded as Galesburg Hardware.

In 1968 Richard Bresson worked at the Hardware Store when it was known as Langs Hardware he worked there until 1987 when he was able to purchase the Hardware Store himself and become not just an employee but the owner of Langs Hardware. In December of 1998 Galesburg and Langs made national news when a gas leak caused an explosion and the store was lost. Richard, Karen and their two eldest sons Sco

tt and Bill ran the store together. Sadly Richard passed away in December of 2016. The store is still currently run by Karen, Scott and Bill Bresson.

Did you know Galesburg had an interurban train stop?

The electric train service ran between Kalamazoo and Detroit from 1900 to 1928. A train bridge existed east of Galesburg (about 1,000 feet east down the tracks from Dreamers). The train was powered by 600 volts of electricity from overhead centenary and third rail out in the country.
