The snow is piling up, and temps have dropped below 0.🥶 This is a great time to make sure your home is heated effectively and safely.

Here are some tips to stay safe and warm this winter:

✅Have your furnace and vents inspected every year.
✅Use metal or heat-tempered glass for your fireplace.
✅Keep children at least 3 feet away from heating devices.
✅Ensure smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms are working.

Today Jim & Brian attended the ribbon cutting ceremony of Grand Forks Public Schools' brand new - Career Impact Academy!

Doors will open this fall and students from Grand Forks and its surrounding communities will partake in classes that will prepare them for the future! There’s a focus on career programs, hands-on learning labs, student collaboration spaces, community-based challenges and industry partnerships. Spaces are dedicated to automotive, precision technology, architecture & engineering, robotics & advanced manufacturing, aviation, culinary, building trades, information technology and medical careers!

This photo, recently taken at Lift Station 46, features a giant blockage pulled from our sewer system. From cotton swabs to feminine products to wet wipes, many products labeled “flushable” belong in the trash.🚮 Flushing these items can cause blockages that clog pipes, break pumps and cause sanitary sewer overflows, which lead to thousands of dollars in repairs.

The only thing that should be flushed, besides human waste, is toilet paper.🧻 We appreciate your effort to help keep our system running smoothly.
