👉 We recommend keeping it simple and keeping it thin! Here's how:

Start with a couple light layers of Danish oil, followed by Nanofinish as the final seal. This will give you an ultra-thin, high-performance finish that keeps you visually and physically connected to the wood. 🙌

Q: Will Nanofinish fill in scratches?
A: Yes – to a point...

Nanofinish can help minimize the appearance of scratches, but you might still see light-catching scratches.

As Nanofinish is applied, it penetrates into the bottom of scratches, chemically bonds, and reduces that bright white fracture effect. 😎

Even if it doesn't "fill" a scratch in the traditional sense, it blends and softens the damage visually!

If you've worked with metal in your shop, you already know you might get metal shavings. ⚠️

When those metal shavings get sucked into your dust collection system, they might spark when they hit the impeller. 💥

BUT, we have good news for you...

The strong magnets inside Lightning Lock fittings act like a trap for metal shavings, helping to catch them before they ever make it into your system. 😁

If you notice metal shavings on your Lightning Lock fittings, just grab some blue painter's tape, press it against the shavings and lift them away!

Standing water = BAD 🙅‍♂️
Protected cast iron = GOOD 😁

Carbon Coat protects your cast iron tool surfaces from humidity around the clock. Standing water though, that's a different beast.

However, with additional layers of Carbon Coat, beyond the standard 2-3, you'll improve the protection and make a stronger barrier against water. 🚫 💦

How many layers of Nanofinish should you apply? 🤨

In most cases, two layers of Hard Coat followed by two layers of Top Coat provides a great starting point.

👉 Want a more matte finish? Add extra layers of Hard Coat and skip Top Coat.

👉 Chasing a glossy sheen? Add a few extra layers of Top Coat.

However, if you coat a surface with 8 or more layers of Nanofinish and then set something heavy on it for a few days, you might see a subtle impression where the object was sitting.
