What a shame that it comes to this.
Decades old companies that control the industry refusing to even talk to each other about a proper solution to an issue such as this. They would rather cost consumers & businesses millions of dollars before actually working on a proper solution.
Many devices have had to be repaired, restored, or reloaded as they have been affected by these irresponsible releases, add to that their negative effect on standard apps such as MalwareBytes, Eset, Avast etc. just to name a few.
I think the industry should seriously be facing at bare minimum, a class-action lawsuit.

Microsoft has issued on Saturday an emergency out-of-band Windows update that disables patches for the Spectre Variant 2 bug (CVE-2017-5715).
