Service Technician/Mechanic

Ram Winch & Hoist in Houston Texas is in immediate need for a Service Tech./Shop Mechanic.

Candidate must have 3+ yrs. experience in pneumatic/hydraulic repair, Electrical experience is a plus.

Position summary:

To provide field installations of all equipment as well as repair hydraulic, mechanical related problems at existing customer sites. Also work in the shop as a mechanic or assembly technician when not in the field:
• Installation of all equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic related problems in this field.
• Train customers on safe and efficient utilization of all equipment.
• Provide preventive maintenance on all equipment and make recommendations to customers.
• Proper documentation of all work required i.e. service reports, expense exports, installation feedback forms, etc.
• Assembly of equipment working from diagrams
• Load testing of equipment
• Ability to work flexible hrs.
• Work as needed at in-house center when not in the field

Qualifications/Skills Required

• Ability to travel to international and domestic locations
• Ability to read basic electrical/mechanical and pneumatic diagrams
• Excellent customer service & communication skills a plus
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skill
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations and service.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be self-starter and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
• Great oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain a US passport or in other documentation needed to travel for international or domestic travel.

Work Environment

• Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility's production floor or on the production floor.
Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics
• Assemble and install either electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components
• Operate machines, use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place
• Assemble and attached functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools
• May prioritize work based on production schedule
• Performs the assemble, start up, and function test of equipment systems
• Troubleshoot systems, make necessary repairs and corrections to system
• Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

• 2 yrs. Manufacturing, assembly or production experience preferred.

Must have toolbox and tools to perform job duties.
