Thanks to all the kids that brought in their deer from this weekend's youth hunt! If you have pictures from this weekend you would like to share, send them our way!

Also, our Youth Big Doe and Big buck contest isn't over yet. If a kid you know is lucky enough to bag a deer during the upcoming regular Fi****ms season, Archery season, or the Muzzleloader season, have them stop in at our store to register their deer and get entered in our contest. (they must have the printed/paper license to be registered in our contest-not register the deer online or on the DNR app)

If you have a kid taking part in the youth hunt this weekend and they are lucky enough to harvest a deer, don't forget to bring the deer in to our store to register it and to also enter it in our Big Buck and Big Doe contests. We can't wait to see the success that the youth have this year!

Do you know someone that is planning on taking part in the Youth Statewide Deer hunt at the end of the week, Oct 15th-18th? If they still need to get their license or other hunting supplies, we are here to help. Stop in today and pick up their hunting license, deer cover scents, calls, and more.
If they are lucky enough to bag a deer, have them stop in at our store to register it and to also enter it in our Youth deer contests.
The only rules for this contest that we have are as follows:
*Register and weigh your deer with us
*Weight will determine biggest deer
*One gift certificate per big doe/buck
*Runs for Archery (up until Dec 13th), the youth hunt,
Fi****ms and Muzzleloader seasons
*Biggest deer wins a $25 gift certificate to Joe's
*Gift certificates awarded after Muzzleloader season

Are you looking for something to do with your family this weekend? Then stop by the Howard Lake fire station Sunday from 11am-2pm and check out their open house. They have a lot of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy!
Also, if you have ever thought about joining the Howard Lake Fire & Ambulance Service, they are currently taking applications. This is a great opportunity to be involved in our community, while also filling a vital role in the emergency response within our area.
If you stop by the station Sunday, they will be available to answer any questions you may have, show you the equipment they use, and get you an application if you are interested in joining their department.

With it being Fire Prevention week, now is a good time to take an inventory of your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Do you need to install or upgrade some? Now is a good time to change batteries in your current alarms, install alarms if you don't have any, and replace outdated alarms where need be. Stop in today and check out the variety of alarms that we carry to help keep you and your family safe.
