I haven't been through Greenville in months--it's pretty painful driving through the town after all the crap thrown at us when damage from the demolition next door closed our doors to walk-in business. The Boro put a fence up and said our building was unstable and too dangerous for customers. We moved out quickly and chaotically after buying a building that's half the size of the original, and haven't been able to get organized enough to reopen. Imagine my surprise today, though, when I drove by and saw the building as we left it, but with no fence, no obvious repair of the damage it sustained, and no caution signs. At the time, we were counseled to just let it go to a buyer who planned development and not seek legal action. What's done is done, obviously, but it sure leaves a bitter taste.

It's been a long time since we've posted an update, but we were hoping to get the store open again for walk - in customers. We're sorry to say that it isn't happening anytime soon, and we're not sure about the future either. To recap, we had the big online auction at the Greenville store last summer after the Boro closed us to walk-in trade due to extensive damage during demolition of the one next door. We scrambled to find a new site (not in Greenville, for obvious reasons🤬🤬), and bought a building in Jamestown. It's a good site, but half as big as the original one. We moved inventory and equipment quickly and somewhat haphazardly due to safety concerns, and it's been difficult to reorganize. So at least for now, the EBay store has been running successfully, and we encourage you to explore that site--from the EBay site search for "greenvilletools." Right now he has 564 items listed--you'll be amazed at some of the items he's listed! You can purchase through there, but make arrangements to meet Brian for pickup which will save you shipping costs. And he is selling at Andover flea market this Saturday and Four Seasons on Sunday (of course, weather permitting.) We'll post further dates here. If there's something in particular you're looking for, call 724-588-8665 or message us through here and he can bring it with him, or meet up somewhere else. We're so grateful for your continued support--it stinks not being able to have local customers peruse the store but we'll work hard to find what you want.

**"Miracle on Main Street"**

We're in the midst of renovating and organizing the new space on Liberty Street in Jamestown. That's been a wild ride after a chaotic forced move from the Greenville building. It'll be months before we're ready for walk-in customers, but Brian is maintaining the EBay store.

Town officials had a fence erected in front of the old site last January after our building was damaged during demolition of the one next to it. They said there was danger of collapse, and the demo foreman told Brian if he heard a big noise that he couldn't identify to "get the f**k out of the building!" The demolition company stopped work after realizing they had shared walls, a common finding in buildings of that age and usually anticipated. The Boro manager said they didn't have money to repair that damage, and then threatened the demolition company with breach of contract if they didn't proceed (their foreman told us that) The Boro solicitor sent us a letter essentially saying so sorry, but not their problem and they were going to continue demolition soon so we needed to vacate ASAP. Thankfully we had a potential buyer who wanted to tear the building down and develop that entire block, and Boro officials knew that plan was in the works. We sought legal counsel who advised us that we had two options--we had a great case if we sued the Boro, the demolition company, etc but it could take several years to resolve and there was no guarantee justice would be served. Or, we could back away, take the offer on the building and swallow the financial hit of getting much less than the cost of a new space and loss of sales. At our age, we couldn't see paying massive legal fees toward a battle we might not win. We scrambled to find another site, outside of Greenville for obvious reasons 🤬. We held an auction and enlisted family and friends to help with the giant move. And as a going away gift, the Boro insisted we pay for a lateral sewer inspection--a fee of $375, which is $100-$125 in any other municipality, for a building that would be demolished.🤬🤬 Hopefully, we'll be able to reopen to the public next spring.

So, what's the miracle? We've avoided driving through downtown Greenville since the move, but I passed through on September 6th. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that the fence in front of our building had been removed! The sidewalk is completely clear. The damaged area is still very prominent, and there doesn't seem to be any type of repair in place. We lost months of revenue because this was supposedly so dangerous, and now it's OK? The Boro won't have to pay for the rest of the demolition next door since our buyers will complete it. They expect to benefit from increased taxes. All in all, they're making out at our expense. Well played, Boro of Greenville, well played!

BTW, the Record Argus ran an article about this last week but didn't address the question we had about why the fence is down now.

We've moved almost everything to our new building at 126 Liberty St, Jamestown. This site is the former First National Bank, and its ATM is unfortunately now the only bank in town. The new space is less than half the size of our Greenville building, so we've downsized considerably. It's been a daunting task, but we're looking at it as a way to reorganize (something that was desperately needed😜.) Shout out to Justin Loomis at JRL Auctions for a successful sale which helped with that downsizing! Our phone system was finally installed and is now working. We still have so much to do at the new place--moving a business with that much inventory in a short period of time means a lot of work before we can open to the public although we're doing EBay sales. We're excited about the new site and ready to start a new chapter in a great town. Watch for updates here, and the new website is under construction. Thanks for all your support!
