We’re open the rest of the Saturdays this month! This Saturday we’re open 9 to 1. The Saturday after that we’ll have a special photo op for the kids / adults up in the warehouse which will be accompanied by a live hammered dulcimer player and then the last Saturday of the month we’re closing the year out with homemade donuts. Come on down and say hi. (Bayonet is not for sale)

New Vessel Screwdrivers now in stock. These Powergrip handles are some of the nicest most comfortable ones I’ve held. Comes in slotted, Phillips, ball hex and torx. Their ball hex is slightly pointed on the top and they call them “superball”. Also got one of those old style wood handled screwdrivers that look like the old Irwin’s. Nice stuff. Individual and in sets.

The Magnolia Brush Co. was started in 1908 and operates today in Clarksville Texas. They make all sorts of US made brushes but we really like their brass and steel wire brushes. Hard to tell from a picture but these brushes feel so much better in the hand. Comes in wood or plastic handles. We added a dozen or so different styles but check out all their brushes we carry under Magnolia in the Tool Brand section.

(Note: not everything they make is US made but probably 85%)

November calendar is up! As always, we’re open the last Saturday of the month and serving pancakes from 9 to 1. We’ve also added a “night owl” beer night which will be the third Thursday of every month. Come by and grab a beer and walk the aisles. More events to come including a “bingo night” with our brand new TV bingo machine made by Kansas City’s jack-of-all-trades HVAC extraordinaire Phil B. AKA “Mr. Moonshine”. Thanks again Phil!

Say hello to the Dexter Stitch Picker. Just think of all the things you can do with this little sucker. Please! Think of them! Dexter made this so long ago it doesn’t even remember who they made it for (or why). Probably from the 60’s, these scalloped stitch pickers can saw through just about anything and were most likely designed to be an industrial strength seam ripper. Act fast. We only bought 3,000 of them. $4.00 each.

Tuesday 10/15 we’re open late till 8pm handing out beers so you can browse tools and sip a cold one. I have fond memories of SRO Video doing the same and would like to continue the tradition. Come on by and saddle up to the counter to talk tools and browse by moonlight. We’ll make this a monthly thing so if you can’t make it this time stay tuned for updates on the next one.

The HJE calendar is here! We're adding more dates and staying open later so you can get the appropriate amount of tool time in October. Put on your nicest pair of overalls, scrounge up a date and come on down. We got it all this fall! Beer, pancakes AND weenies.

- Tuesday 10/15 we're open late till 8pm and handing out beers so you can browse tools and sip a cold one

- Saturday 10/26 we're open from 9am to 1pm and are flipping flapjacks and frying bacon

- Wednesday 10/30 get ready for a Halloweenie roast. There may be costumes and candy but mostly weenies and wrenches. Open till 8pm.

We have what we call “knife day” here at Epstein’s where we order a bunch of unusual knives and then excitedly unpack them when they show up. This time around we got a bunch of strange and unusual Japanese kitchen knives from Seki Japan (their steel town). Haven’t you always wanted a watermelon knife the size of a machete or how bout a stainless steel eel spike? Pocket knives to tomato slicers to hawk bill folders to a Japanese camp axe. We got just a few of everything but will order again as everything looks really nice. Enjoy!
