Sound Building Supply, a local Metal Roof and Metal Building Components manufacturer, is looking for a Lean Facilitator. SBS has been in continuous operation here in the Puget Sound for over the last 40yrs. Our growth and success this year is allowing us to expand our team/family with this position.
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining/repairing all manufacturing equipment, MHE/PIT, and facilities. This individual will independently perform and/or support the maintenance function in a proactive manner in all facets of the facility. The Technician will work closely with other internal departments to ensure that maintenance activities are performed in alignment with production schedules.
This Technician will, as needed, also coordinate work done by subcontractors and other key vendors to support Manufacturing as needed. Will perform and/or coordinate planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance, and repairs of all manufacturing equipment as well as all facilities maintenance. Provide technical support for all processes and equipment used in the manufacturing. Install and/or oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment. Follow all building code requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years recent experience as a Maintenance Technician in sheet metal manufacturing. Both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of MHE/PIT, Sheet Metal Manufacturing SHEAR β Cincinnati/Wysong 12ft, BRAKE PRESS Cincinnati/Atlantis 12ft, and roll former equipment or comparable equipment a plus. Comfortable standing, bending, shifting, and lifting for 8+hours. Experience in sheet metal manufacturing processes is a plus. Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties
β’ You have a good working knowledge and have the ability to perform professional level maintenance services, such as plumbing, electrical, appliances, heating and air-conditioning, and general construction.
β’ You have the ability to use simple tools, such as paint brushes, rollers, spray equipment, ladders, solvents, cleaners, tape, and coverings, as well as power tools, such as snakes, jack Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as electrical motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
β’ Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
β’ Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
β’ Welding and some fabrication work as required.
β’ Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as shears, brakes, and MHE/PIT/PIE/Forklift.
β’ hammers, electrical test devices, grinders, drills, saws, and motor/electrical vehicles.
β’ Hands-on position that requires strong debugging and troubleshooting skills within Electrical, Mechanical, and Pneumatic machine scenarios
β’ Effectively maintain, troubleshoot, determine root causes of failure, and perform corrective actions
β’ Maintain and repair all of the automation dispensing equipment to operate at optimum throughput and minimum downtime
β’ Maintain and track records on all PMs and maintenance work orders
β’ Ensure to maintain adequate inventories of spare parts, tools and supplies to support production equipment
β’ Demonstrate high proficiency with problem solving and communication skills
β’ Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
β’ Other duties as required or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ HS Diploma or GED
β’ Vocational degree/Certificate in Industrial or Electrical or Mechanical.
β’ 5+ years of experiences with electrical, mechanical maintenance experience within industrial, manufacturing, or automated fulfillment center industries
β’ Experience with 3-phase 480 volts industrial electrical systems, electrical wiring, electrical conduit, and motor control circuits
β’ Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, and transducers
β’ AC/DC motors and motor controls
β’ Knowledge of equipment maintenance program, policies/procedures
β’ Ability to handle multitasks simultaneously
β’ Ability to work independently
β’ Team player, positive attitude and proactive
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
β’ Proven leadership abilities
β’ Self-starter
β’ Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Maintenance.
