Well, folks, it’s been a busy week here on Main Street! We got some much-needed rain, things are finally starting to dry out, and the sidewalk crews are making some serious progress. We’ve got sidewalks going in all over, and for once, we’re seeing more concrete and less construction chaos!

Now, we did have a little mishap right out front of Brooks Hardware. The curb and gutter are going to have to be ripped out and lowered a bit to help get that slope right. Just a minor detour in the grand scheme of things.

But all joking aside, the project is moving along, and it’s great to see progress happening!

Well, folks, stop the presses! Things are happening on Main Street! As you can see, we’ve got curb and gutter in front of the store, the concrete crews are moving right along, and the dirt crews are busy working everything in and getting it flattened out and pack in.

Meanwhile, up on the north side of Main, they’re hard at work replacing that small section of sewer. Just another exciting chapter in the never-ending saga of Main Street construction!

But hey, the sun is shining, it’s Homecoming Friday, and we’ve got progress to report. Life doesn’t get much better than that! ☀️🏈

Everybody stay busy, stay healthy, and enjoy the Homecoming festivities. And while you’re out and about celebrating our Wildcats, remember to support your small-town businesses here in Kimball. Welcome back to another glorious edition of Brooks on Main — Mostly True News from Main Street Kimball!

Happy Homecoming Thursday to all the Kimball-White Lake Wildcats! 🐾🏈

Things are continuing to happen on Main Street today, folks! We’ve got curb and gutter going in on the north end of Main, and the crew is hoping to get everything compacted, tested, and passed between First and Second Street so they can keep rolling with the concrete.

They’re also finishing up ripping out some sidewalks, while SiteWorks is on site taking care of a minor sewer repair that showed up during camera inspection. Better to get that fixed now before we put a whole bunch of brand-new concrete on top of it.

A lot of things moving, a lot of things happening, and for once, Mother Nature is cooperating with the construction crew! The weather has been about as perfect as you could ask for.

So enjoy Homecoming, support your Wildcats, and while you’re out and about, keep supporting your local Main Street businesses!

And remember… the back door is always open at Brooks!

Until next time, this has been your mostly true construction news from Main Street Kimball. 🎥😂

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks on Main!

It’s a glorious Wednesday morning here on Main Street in Kimball, and folks… we have CONCRETE! 🚧

That’s right—the first of many concrete trucks has arrived! After months of dirt, gravel, mud, rain, pumping, packing, repacking, and generally wondering if Main Street was ever going to become a street again… we have concrete!

Right now, the crew is working with that one-foot buffer along the buildings, doing their best to protect those foundations. And for once, the official Mostly True News report is actually good news: this project is moving forward!

It’s great to finally look out the door and see something different happening. We might even have to retire the “Main Street Moat” jokes soon. Or not. We’ll see how the day goes. 😂

And while all this construction continues, remember to keep your local Kimball Main Street businesses in mind the next time you need something.

Food, hardware, auto, groceries, homemade crafts, services, and everything in between—there are a LOT of local businesses depending on all of us to keep shopping local.

Give some love to:

Houser’s Auto • Soak-N-Suds • Club Vega • Michell’s Market • Senior Center • Lenz Agency • Kimball Legion • First Dakota • Christensen Land & Cattle • Central Dakota Times • Heavenly Hair • Mick Dockter Woodworking • Open Hands Learning • Houser’s Taxidermy • Crazy 8’s • Miller Apartments • Sioux Nation

And, of course, Brooks Hardware & Auto.

Let’s keep Main Street going. Let’s keep it thriving. And let’s make sure when the construction crews finally pack up and leave, our businesses are still here and stronger than ever.

This is our Main Street. Let’s support it.

Until the next Mostly True News report…

Stay local, stay positive, and remember—the back door is always open at Brooks!

Welcome back to another episode of Brooks on Main — Mostly True News on Main!

It’s Positive Vibe Tuesday, folks, and for once, we’ve actually got some news worth being positive about!

Looking outside, there’s a LOT of change happening on Main Street. After roughly two months of watching the same dirt, rock, mud and construction equipment, it’s nice to see something different!

NorthWestern Energy has power on Main Street. We’ve got light poles. We’ve got lights. Rex Winkle is here, and crews are forming things up for concrete. Word on the street is we might even see some concrete getting poured this afternoon!

Meanwhile, the trucks are warming up and getting back to work on the base. So, ladies and gentlemen, progress appears to be happening! We repeat: this is not a drill. 😂

Let’s keep the positive vibes rolling and hope Mother Nature cooperates for a change.

And as always, remember to support your local Main Street businesses. We’re still here, we’re still open, and the back door is always open!

Stay tuned for more Kimball news — mostly true, as always.
