The runoff election for this race is September 14th. Be sure to vote! Only 3 weeks from yesterday. If you would like to visit about your concerns, why I decided to run for this office, or brainstorm about how we can work together to make Kingfisher better for business, families, and citizens who choose to call Kingfisher home, please reach out to me. I have ideas and have a perspective on infrastructure and other services provided that I would love to visit about but more importantly is your perspective and what we can work on together to continue the progress. I would appreciate your vote on September 14th.

Thank you to each of you who have wished me well in this election and the Kingfisher community for your support. I believe all three, Richard Reynolds, Kaci Farrar, and myself, have the best interest of Kingfisher in mind and why each of us chose to run for this seat. The beauty of our system is that individuals have a voice in who represents them moving forward. As important, is your continued involvement with those representing you. We as individuals have different perspectives shaped by our environments and experiences and each of those perspectives are important and valued. Please reach out to me if you would like to discuss any issue you may have.

I would like to see needed investments in our infrastructure ensuring services provided by the City remain reliable and uninterrupted. Well-maintained infrastructure goes unnoticed yet when investments are neglected those problems are readily seen and cause issues for many.

I want to help move Kingfisher forward and provide continued support of programs and services which create a quality of life for the residents and businesses of this City. I also believe as a collective group of residents, we can create opportunities to attract even more business adding jobs and opportunities for the people of Kingfisher and ultimately driving our local economy.

I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your involvement and interest in the Kingfisher Community.

First and foremost, congratulations to the Kingfisher Yellowjackets! 4A Academic and State Champions, what an achievement not only on the basketball court but also in the classroom. Success breeds success and with a 107-4 record for the Seniors, there has been a lot of success. A team can’t achieve this type of success without great, coachable players, coaches who bring it every single day setting the example, and a community that supports and rallies behind their team. As I sat in the Ron Norick Arena last evening, the team walked into the locker room down 27-20. There was no concern on their faces, they knew there was still another half of basketball and there was never a question in their minds that if they executed the plans the coaches provided and kept working, the result would be 4A State Champions. Congratulations to Coach Reese, Coach Combs, and Coach Green on your success and mentorship of these young men.

My family moved to Kingfisher in September 2018. Shana and I chose to move to Kingfisher for various reasons. We were both raised in smaller communities and appreciate the values developed, the work ethic engrained, and the support of a community in places like Kingfisher. Our oldest child, Reagan, graduated from high school at a larger school in the Oklahoma City area and although we appreciated the education received and friendships developed, there was little to no community. Our two youngest, Cooper and Cade, began school in Kingfisher Public Schools in the Fall of 2018. Cooper drove to Kingfisher from Oklahoma City his junior year of high school while renovations to our home were being completed and Cade began his 7th-grade year in Kingfisher in 2018. We very much appreciate the Kingfisher Public School system and each of the administrators and teachers' investment in our children.

The reason I chose to run for the seat of City Commissioner is to pay back some of what my family has received in the last few years in Kingfisher. I will work tirelessly to provide insight based on my experience and perspective along with the Mayor and other Commissioners to invest in this city and move it forward working collaboratively with the Chamber of Commerce and all citizens. My career as an engineer has afforded me experiences requiring difficult decisions affecting thousands of people. Difficult decisions must be made and collaboration with others with different experiences and possibly different interests are necessary to arrive at the best possible outcomes. My engineering background, as stated in my bio, was developed initially working with cities like Kingfisher dealing with critical needs, ensuring compliance with safe drinking water standards, wastewater requirements, and maintenance of arterial, collector and local roads. I currently sit on the Board of Directors at CEC Corporation, serve on the ODOT (Oklahoma Department of Transportation) /ACEC OK (American Council of Engineering Companies) steering committee, formerly served on the OAPA (Oklahoma Asphalt Pavement Association) Board, serve on the steering committee at OAPA, among other service boards and committees. Serving alongside others has allowed me the experience to work well with others in making difficult decisions. Decisions to move our community forward starts with proper planning, input from citizens, and ex*****on of those plans and ideas. I have the experience working with others to develop plans and ultimately implement and construct those plans.

I humbly ask for your vote on April 6th to serve the community of Kingfisher and be a representative voice for you.

Kingfisher is such a great city, with great people, and I would love to serve you in this capacity. This is a unique community where people rally for each other, support one another and are willing to lend a hand to each other for the greater good. I am proud to call Kingfisher home and would very much appreciate your consideration for this position on April 6th. Either way, I would encourage you to vote to ensure your voice is heard. Finally, if you would be willing to put one of my signs in your yard let me know.

Geoff earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1995. He began his career in Dumas, TX working with smaller municipalities providing civil engineering services with a small engineering firm. He then worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and earned his Professional Engineering (P.E.) license while working for ODOT. After earning his P.E., Geoff went to work for Broce Construction ultimately managing the western portion (western Oklahoma, panhandle of Texas, and Kansas) of their highway construction operations. He then started Blaco Construction, along with a partner, building this company to provide paving services for developers, municipalities, counties, and state entities. After selling his shares in Blaco, he re-entered the engineering consultant industry with a publicly traded organization with 365 offices worldwide. In Oklahoma, the company specifically focused on municipal and transportation consultant services. In 2015, Geoff was recruited to work for an Oklahoma City based company and began his career with CEC Corporation. He became a partner in 2019 and currently works as the Oklahoma Transportation Market Leader for CEC Corporation.
The desire to serve on the City Commission stems from his 25 years of providing engineering consultant services to many municipalities across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. He has been afforded the opportunity to work with some great people and believes the time is now to give back. Kingfisher has been remarkable for the Covalt family and Cooper, the oldest son and 2nd child, was fortunate to graduate from Kingfisher High School in 2019. Cade, the youngest of three children, is currently a freshman in high school and has really recognized the value of Kingfisher, the community, and all the wonderful people here. Kingfisher has so many giving, hospitable, and compassionate people that makes this a great place to raise a family, enjoy community, and build life-long friendships.
Geoff understands the role of City Commissioner, the benefit his experience will add to the current Commission and the attention needed for infrastructure to continue to allow the City of Kingfisher to move forward. Kingfisher is a great community and for our kids and grandkids to enjoy the Kingfisher community in the future, investments must be solid, well-vetted and informed. Geoff's addition to the City Commission will provide a fresh perspective supported by 25 years of engineering experience.
If you wish to visit with Geoff, please reach out through this page.

He would appreciate your consideration and would love to have your vote on April 6th.
