People are finally getting tired of that cold, "hospital gray" look in their garages and shops. Lately, we’re seeing a massive shift toward warmer earth tones all over Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Homeowners are looking for a more residential, comfortable feel that doesn't feel like a sterile lab.

If you're bidding commercial jobs, that’s the only question that matters. Downtime kills revenue. But speed without the right system is just a future failure.

For 1-day turnarounds on warehouses and dry commercial spaces, here is the Huey-approved spec:
- Base Coat: Rapid MVB. Do not put polyaspartic directly to concrete.
- Scrape: 1.5 hours.
- Top Coat: Fast cure polyaspartic.

Don't cut corners on prep just to meet a deadline. If you rush the grind, you'll be redoing the floor in the long run. You need the right gear to prep fast enough to hit these windows. We have the Lavina L31GS7 Grinder available for rent to ensure you get the profile you need without the sweat.

STOP!! 🛑 If your epoxy is peeling, don’t blame the bucket... blame the prep! 80% of floor failures happen because someone wanted to take a shortcut on the grind. You can buy the most expensive poly on the planet, but if you don't "open up" that slab, you’re just painting a disaster. 📉

This is the RAS way. We don't just scratch the surface; we use Lavina grinders and World Diamond Source (WDS) diamonds to get that concrete thirsty. If it ain't porous, it ain't gonna bond. Period. 🔨💪

Why do concrete coatings bubble in direct sunlight?

Because the slab is breathing.
Concrete is full of pores and tiny air voids. When direct sun hits it and the temperature starts rising, the air and moisture v***r inside the slab expand and try to escape. If a coating is still wet, that pressure pushes up through the film and creates pinholes, fish-eyes, bubbles, craters, and blisters.
The danger is not just “hot weather.”
The real danger is a rising slab temperature.
That’s why many installers see the biggest risk late morning to early afternoon. For us, we’ve found 11am–1pm is often the worst window for outgassing or v***r drive. Not because the clock causes it, but because that’s when the slab is usually heating the fastest.
A few reminders:
Don’t just watch air temp — watch surface temp
Avoid coating in direct sunlight when the slab is heating up
Apply during a cooling cycle when possible
Use the right primer
Check for moisture v***r transmission when the slab is questionable
Not every bubble is a material failure.
A lot of times, it’s physics.
If you know what the slab is doing before you coat it, you can prevent a lot of callbacks.
