It's Meet Your National Ambassadors Monday!

Donna Marie King of South Carolina is our 2026-2027 National "Buddy"® Poppy Ambassador. A Life Member of 10624, she joined on the eligibility of her husband, who served in the U.S. Air Force; he was also VFW Post Commander for 13 years and District Commander from 2018 to 2019. King has served the organization in many capacities, including District and Department President and Department Chairman for Youth Activities, Veterans & Family Support, Americanism and Auxiliary Outreach.

One of her focuses as National "Buddy"® Poppy Ambassador is educating the public on what the "Buddy"® Poppy represents, who distributes the poppies and why so that people will have a better understanding of why we do what we do. King writes, "With your VFW, have an event educating your community on the “Buddy”® Poppy. Let’s see who can come up with interesting ideas and let’s make sure we SWAP (Share Wonderful Auxiliary Projects)."

LEXINGTON COUNTY VETERANS DAY PARADE 💙🤍❤️🇺🇸

Mark your calendars! The Lexington County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM in downtown Lexington, South Carolina! 🇺🇸

Join the community as we come together to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Let’s show our veterans the appreciation, love, and respect they deserve! ❤️🤍💙

📅 Date: Sunday, November 1, 2026
⏰ Time: 3:00 PM
📍 Location: Downtown Lexington, SC

🇺🇸 Parade Route: The parade will travel down Main Street, beginning at the corner of Butler and Haygood Streets and ending at the Lexington County Administration Building.

🎖️ Who Will Participate?
• Local veterans and active-duty military personnel
• Military organizations
• Local schools and civic groups
• Marching bands
• Community floats

🎉 Admission: FREE for spectators and participants!

Bring your family, invite your friends, and come out to support our veterans and celebrate the freedom they have helped protect.
