The story of TEquipment.NET begins in 1969 with the founding of Shortess-Rawson Associates Inc. The core business for Shortess-Rawson was educational technology sales. Shortess-Rawson maintained a strong relationship with the educational marketplace over the years and out of this, the company was recruited by several test and measurement equipment manufacturers. One thing lead to another and soon
enough, Shortess-Rawson began marketing test and measurement equipment to major broadcast companies in New York City. By the end of the 1990s, Shortess-Rawson had sold millions of dollars of test equipment to leading companies including NBC, Sony, JVC, and Panasonic. In 2000, Shortess-Rawson launched Tequipment.NET, the company’s first e-commerce website, which would focus on the test equipment market. In December of 2002, employees of Shortess-Rawson created InterWorld Highway, LLC and purchased the Tequipment.NET DBA and the rights to market other educational products. By leveraging the relationship built by Shortess-Rawson over the previous 32 years, InterWorld Highway, LLC also launched Touchboards.com, which became a DBA in 2002. Touchboards.com is dedicated to interactive touch technology including whiteboards, LCD displays, projectors, and more. In 2005, Tequipment.NET moved its operation from Hazlet to Long Branch, New Jersey. The company now occupies a newly renovated building with 10,000 sq. feet of space, located mere feet from the Long Branch rail station and about 1.5 hours from NYC. The IWH family of companies has experienced significant growth over the past 6 years and currently has 40 employees, a well-stocked inventory area, and over 100 million dollars in annual sales.
