▪️What’s the difference between the SouthOrd Standard and Slimline lock pick series? Our Standard lock picks were designed with our U.S. keyways in mind and are .025” thick. Our Slimline lock picks have more narrow profiles, for a better fit in the narrow keyways found in Europe, and in some high-security locks here in the U.S. Our Slimline picks are .022” thick, .003” thinner than our Standard lock picks. Standard lock picks are a great choice for our U.S. customers (but are still popular in Europe!), and because of their width and thickness, Standard picks provide a more rigid feel when picking and are more forgiving to beginners who tend to be a bit heavy-handed as they learn to pick. Slimline lock picks are an excellent choice for our European customers, of course, but they are a great choice as well for anyone looking for a more narrow pick to allow more picking room in the keyway. Pictured here, for comparison, are the Standard Hook, Classic Rake and Long Rake with their Slimline counterparts to their right.▪️
