Our Story

Richard and Ruth Wheeler opened Wheeler Building Materials in 1963. In 1986 we lost our first store to fire. Knowing our community and the contractors we serve needed us, we never closed despite that fire. We stayed open supplying what we could while we rebuilt. In May of 1987 we welcomed the community into the store we still call home today on Church Street in Lyndonville.

Today our family owned and operated business, run by its matriarch Ruth Wheeler and son, Michael Wheeler handles everything from lumber delivery to plumbing needs, paint projects to kitchen design and measuring projects for new windows and doors.

We are a community focused business with deep roots in the Northeast Kingdom. Everyday we strive to keep in stock the building materials our customers and this community need. We aren’t just a place to buy materials, we are a place to ask questions, get answers and find what you are looking for.
