The clocks fell back this weekend, which means shorter days and the start of the real heating season. This is when every gap in the building envelope starts costing money.
Heat leaves a house three ways: through the insulation, around it through the framing, and with air that leaks out through seams and penetrations.
Cavity insulation only handles the first one. Every stud, plate and header is a path for heat to walk right past it, and in a typical wall that framing adds up to a big share of the surface.
TimberBoard wraps the outside of the structure in a continuous layer of wood-fiber insulation, so the framing is covered instead of exposed. Fewer thermal bridges, a warmer wall, and a building that holds its heat through the long nights ahead.
