Shortly after we began this journey in April one of the very first new additions we brought to the inventory was lumber. Through the years customers would sometimes ask for a 2x4, sheet of plywood, or just a small piece of insulation and we figured what the heck, let’s give this a shot.

We partnered with Carter Lumber and brought in a truck load, literally. We organized it the best we could in our little garage and to add visibility we hung a simple big green LUMBER banner. We kept the prices as low as we could with hopes it would draw more sales from other aspects of the business. Good business strategy, right? Plus free delivery in town.

We didn’t know what to expect at all. Word has gotten around decently and the common feedback we have gotten is “this is the greatest thing you’ve done so far”. Well we are almost 6 months into this thing and we made the decision to expand our lumber selection!

We are very happy with how well this lumber rack turned out! The new rack allowed us to expand and organize to a level that would make your carpenter jellier than a jellyfish (as Ted Lasso would say). Thank you to our Uncle Joe for the help building this and to his great assistant! You built this thing sturdier than a boulder.

Oh, and we just added a pressure washer display which is also brand new to our store!

We are preparing for the fall and look forward to loading up your trucks with lumber this fall!

Here is the list of our expanded lumber inventory!

Now Available – Exclusively at Village PRO Hardware!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve received the first copies of Dean K. Fick’s brand-new book, More Power to You: The Life and Legacy of Fred William Norton—and Village PRO Hardware is currently the only location where you can purchase it!

Fred Norton, a Danbury High School graduate, lived an extraordinary life and left a lasting legacy both locally and beyond. His story is an important part of our area’s history, making this book a must-read for anyone interested in the community’s history.

We’re also proud to carry Dean’s other local history book, The Lakeside & Marblehead Railroad, along with George W. Hilton’s The Toledo, Port Clinton & Lakeside Railway. Together, these books make a wonderful collection celebrating the rich history of Marblehead, Danbury, Lakeside, and the surrounding communities.

These books would make a great addition to your Marblehead history collection—or a thoughtful gift for a friend or family member who loves the area.

Stop in and pick up your copy while they’re available. We’re proud to support local authors and help preserve the stories that make our community so special.

We just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by over the holiday weekend. Whether you came in for propane, hardware, lumber, a free hot dog, or just to say hello, we truly appreciate your support. Seeing familiar local faces along with our seasonal friends reminds us why we love being part of this community.

We’re also excited to share a few updates!

Lumber is here and growing!
We’re continuing to grow our lumber selection with framing lumber, treated lumber, plywood, OSB, deck boards, and more. If there’s something you don’t see, just ask—we’re always looking to expand based on what our customers need.

Check out our new Stanley tool display!
Liz has been hard at work reorganizing the store and putting together a brand-new Stanley section. Whether you’re a contractor, DIYer, or weekend project warrior, we’ve got a growing selection of quality Stanley hand tools ready for your next project.

Need a screen or window repaired?
Kevin has been hard at work repairing window screens, replacing glass in single-pane windows, and even building brand-new custom screens! If your screen or single-pane window is damaged beyond repair, we can build a new one for you. We also offer lamp repair, so before you throw it away, bring it in and let us take a look.

Our goal is simple: to keep Village PRO Hardware the local hardware store this community can rely on for years to come. Every purchase, every visit, and every recommendation helps us continue growing while staying true to what makes a hometown hardware store special.

From our family to yours, thank you for supporting local. We couldn’t do it without all of you, and we’re excited to continue serving this amazing community.
