Tomcat: Forever in Our Hearts
December 19th, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our store cat, Thomas the Tomcat. Thomas was not just a beloved member of our hardware store family—he took his job very seriously. Thomas could be found sitting atop pallets of birdseed, contentedly receiving pets from his friends as they stopped by. He would often change things up, making beds in new places, and giving everyone a fun scavenger hunt to find him. On sunny evenings, he would perch before the front door, greeting everyone who walked through with his welcoming purrs.

After closing time, Thomas made his nightly rounds, quietly ensuring that everything was safe and secure. He truly lived a happy and full life, brightening our store and the lives of everyone he met with his warmth and dedication. Thomas will be deeply missed. Our memories of his faithful companionship and lively spirit will remain with us always.

Thank you to McKinleyville Animal Care Center for his check-ups and his many healthy years. Thank you to everyone for your warm words. He had many friends.

"Thank you so much! We love how it turned out and thank you so much for all of your help. You were always so helpful, answering all my endless questions, I really appreciate it. And Alex was great too, he was so organized and I was so grateful he found that leak in our kitchen pipe and was able to fix the leak in our other bathroom. And he made us a beautiful bathroom. And I really appreciate Tom meeting us early in the morning to accommodate our work schedules when we had issues come up, that was so nice. All of you are so great to work with.
