Solid Carbon

Solid Carbon Manufacturers of industry leading carbon-sequestering concrete admixture

Solid Carbon exists to turn concrete from a carbon emitter into a climate solution through carbon negative construction. By combining industry innovations that reduce the embodied carbon in concrete production with Solid Carbonโ€™s technology to durably sequester biogenic carbon into the built environment, weโ€™re creating a reliable solution to reversing the damaging impacts of construction on the climate.

I presented today to the Oregon Innovation Council and shared how my story is an Oregon story and the Solid Carbon story is interwoven with the support of Business Oregon funded by the state legislature.

๐ŸŽ‰ We're thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Solid Carbon team! ๐ŸŒŸ Dr. Sean Muir joins us as our Director of Research, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in materials science and sustainable construction materials. It is said that many hands make light work, and we are delighted to put the direction of our research and development in Dr. Muir's capable hands.

With a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from Oregon State University and a track record of securing substantial grant funding, Dr. Muir is well-equipped to lead our innovative projects and further our commitment to revolutionizing the construction industry.

Prior to joining Solid Carbon, Dr. Muir served as the Chief Technology Officer at Amorphyx Inc., where he spearheaded the development of groundbreaking technologies and secured SBIR funding. Dr Muir will continue in his role as a chemistry professor at Linfield University.

His experience in academia and industry, coupled with his passion for sustainability, makes him a valuable addition to our team.

Welcome aboard, Dr. Muir! We're excited to collaborate with you and continue our journey towards pioneering sustainable construction materials and biochar concrete solutions. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ผ

Another great concrete pour today. This one is for the Miller Woods Education Pavilion. This concrete uses 70% slag and 30% Portland-Limestone Cement (PLC) and combined with a 100 pound per yard dose of Solid Carbon - Our Carbon Biochar Admixture creates some of the lowest carbon footprint concrete in history. This project is helping prove that Carbon Sequestration in the built environment is possible, and many would argue necessary for us to start to turn the tide on climate change. Today's pour was completed by McMinnville's own A & T Concrete Construction mixed and delivered by Wilsonville Concrete Products for Miller Woods. This foundation will be the base of the new Pavilion with Timber Frames being donated by New Energy Works Timberframers.
