🚨 NEW OHIO LAW: GIVE FIRST RESPONDERS ROOM TO WORK

Beginning October 6, 2026, Ohio’s new HALO Act (House Bill 20) will establish additional protections for first responders working active scenes.

Under the law, after receiving a warning, a person may not knowingly approach or remain within 15 feet of a first responder while interfering with that responder’s ability to perform their duties or threatening physical harm.

The law applies to professionals including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, and probation officers.

📱 What about recording?
The law does not prohibit peacefully observing or recording first responders from a lawful distance. The focus is on interference, threats, and refusing to provide space after being warned.

Whether it’s a traffic stop, medical emergency, fire scene, or other critical incident, those responding need room to safely do their jobs.

Give them space. Let them work. Let them go home safe.

On September 11th, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost and the countless families forever changed.

We also honor the extraordinary first responders who ran toward danger that day when others were trying to escape. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel and countless others showed the world what courage, sacrifice and service truly look like.

Many gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Many more continued serving in the days, weeks and months that followed, and have carried the physical and emotional effects of that service ever since.

Today, Officer Survival Solutions pauses to remember the fallen, honor the survivors, and recognize every first responder who answered the call that day.

We will never forget.

When seconds count, preparation matters.

Watching testimony from the Lindsay Clancy murder trial and it just reminds you how hard this job is for our officers out there. I can't even imagine walking onto the scene that this gentleman had to uncover.
